I have 5acres around my house to play in. I built a small shelter to have overnights in. I went to it a couple months ago to find it destroyed. I suspect the teenager neighbor did it but I felt that it would be too much confrontation to accuse him. I rebuilt it and hung a sign. It said “if you use it leave it as you found it “. I’d rather not have the trespassing but how can you stop kids from being kids. lol. I think the message worked. I could tell someone was there a couple weeks ago and the shelter was fine. All my firewood was gone but at least nothing was destroyed.

I've been going down to Santa Pod for donkeys and in more recent times they wont let you have an open campfire. So an old washing machine drum makes an excellent fire pit. Plus you can put a grill on top of the opening to do BBQ, and/or a wok will fit in it too. Mates were cremating sausages & burgers on disposable BBQs whilst I was doing steamed mussels in garlic butter & chilli in my wok. Yum.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with using a shelter when nobody is there. BUT leave it the way you found it, clean undamaged, refill firewood if u used it, and don't steal. And when something accidentally breaks, try to fix it. Or leave a note like "Sorry i broke .... I tried to fix it, but I can't." Don't even need a name or whatever, just a simple note like that can be enough not to be mad.
@BananaPeelEuroTrash Жыл бұрын

Many years ago, Andy I used to shoot and camp on the marshes between the Lobster pot (Gravesend) up to Cliffe this was around 1968 - 1970 we would shoot duck and wrap it in clay the clay coming from the Thames, we just wrapped the clay around the plucked duck and put it in the coals for a few hours with no other layer it came out of the coals always cooked to perfection the skin kept the meat free from the clay, of course in those days there was virtually no restrictions we only needed permission from the shepherd to shoot the foreshore it cost use just a few pints for the shepherd. Happy days.

Really enjoy your videos! So sorry about the intruders - so disheartening! I have done rib roasts in salt in my Dutch - Just season it as you normally would and place on a good 2 - 3 cm bed of rock salt then completely cover with rock salt to about the same thickness. Sprinkle with a little bit of water. Cooks beautifully! Not salty at all and comes out from a perfectly sealed off shell of salt.

Hello thanks so much for the uploads my wife and I have really enjoyed all of the videos! Quick question, our Elders here in Northern Ontario Canada have been known to cook Geese and Ducks in a fire pit. Apparently they dig a hole in the ground and bury whatever meat they were eating. It would get covered in foil and they would bury it and make a fire on top. I’ve heard it’s really delicious! Have you ever heard or tried anything like that before? Keep up the great work! 👍🏻😎
