Kentucky commit Travis Perry drops 33 in title game, named WGM Holiday Classic MVP

I've watched (Perry) Lyon County play a few times over the last 3 years. 1. I believe as a senior in HS he is a better shooter than Reed at the same level. 2. I saw him dunk in warm-ups 3. He has a lightning quick release which will help him at the college level. 4. I went to all 4 games at LCHS Holiday Tournament. He was gaurded closely but still scored. 5. Watching him warm up, I saw him hit 22 staight 3's. He did about 21 straight the night before. 6. He is a willing passer and looks for his teammates. 7. I was super impressed with Lyon County's ball movement and teamwork. 8. There was no jealously that I could see. 9. I love their fast paced offense. 10. Lyon County has multiple talented players. The 3 seniors are special. Watching Reddick run the offense and Shoulders inside was a treat to behold. 11. They are a joy to watch.

I love this kid. I was at this game and the previous game and the way he talked about how that game went down is 100% accurate I think Lyon county was honestly just better conditioned then catholic I truly thought it would be within a couple points either way but Lyon clearly had the better conditioned team hands down. Catholic is a great team. Saw great crossing play and yes they are tall but I think either of these 2 teams can beat them 8 out of 10 games. Hell of a tournament and in my opinion Lyon county has the best basketball team in the state would love to see them play crossing. Perry is a stud but there whole team is fun to watch.

He can play at UK. Fans need to temper expectations and not expect him to all American his first year. Give him time. Reed was a pleasant surprise.

Next years class is loaded with PG Boogie Fland , SG Billy Richmond , SF Karter Knox ( We Will Land Him ) , PF Jayden Quiantance , C Somto Cyril , PG Travis Perry , A Top 2 class in the country along with Duke. But Kentucky's class is way more balaceed. Kentucky's class has 2 Guards , 2 Wings , 2 Bigs , Duke's class has 4 Wings , 1 Big. Go Big Blue.

I think Shepherd has more athleticism and speed. Don’t expect him to go crazy like Shepherd. Think Shepherd without his defensive skills. Shepherd has a rare second senses on defense.

I understand 33 points is impressive and I am all for getting Ky kids, and I'm a Reed Sheppard fan and knew he had the talent for UK, but... if I'm being honest, I don't see a UK level talent in this Perry kid. reminds me of another CJ Fredrick. I know BLASPHEMY for me saying it! But I'm being honest. To me he looks like an Xavier or Creighton level talent. Maybe Iowa. Honestly I would be more interested in #5 for Lyon Co Jack Reddick, but he's only a sophomore. Hopefully I'm wrong on this, but time will tell.

⁠@@ryannath85You’re talking about a kid that has very consistently put up 30 plus points games and IS THE ALL TIME STATE OF KENTUCKY LEADING SCORER though my friend! This young man is wired to score and is 3x the 3pt sniper than CJ! Also, he plays a helluva lot smarter than CJ! One other huge aspect is he’s not injury prone whatsoever. I’m stoked that he’s gonna be playing for the CATS!!! Great tournament Travis!
