I love the Kentucky Derby and this song. But too much noise in the background from people who don't love it as I do.

henry mckellar Most of the folks there are there to parrrtty. Which is okay. I am with you though. The band playing and the people singing always get to me. Have a great Derby Day!

Yes, if you're Kentucky-born and bred and you hear this song being sung and played on Derby day itself, it will certainly bring a tear or two to your eyes. Plus, in case you may not be aware, this song was written by Steven Foster and if you'd like a bit more in-depth analysis thereon, I invite you to click this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iobWfpeHqNKoa5I and scroll down to the description section.

Very nice! Plus, for the courtesy of you and others who view this, I have the lyrics for the song and they are below if you want to read them while listening or sing along. It begins at the 1:38 mark. The sun shines bright on My Old Kentucky Home, 'tis Summer, the people are gay; The corn-top's ripe and the meadow's in the bloom, while the birds make music all the day. The young folks roll on the little cabin floor, all merry, all happy and bright; By'n by hard times come a-knocking at the door, then My Old Kentucky Home, good night! Weep no more, my lady! O, weep no more today! We will sing one song for My Old Kentucky Home, for My Old Kentucky Home far away.

They should also change the word "song" to "verse": We will sing one verse for the OKH.
