As a Kentuckian myself, I'm glad to see that you and your family had so much fun visiting the Bluegrass! If you ever make it back and happen to travel to the South Eastern region of the state, drinks are on me, and I'll be glad to show you some of the most beautiful Appalachian scenery you'll ever see. Take care!

Hey Jack, I have family that lives in West Kentucky. There is a large 3-day BBQ competition/charity event every September called "barbecue on the river." It's in Paducah, about 2.5 hrs from Nashville. I live in Oregon, but am pretty sure I'll be there this year. If you can make, I'll buy you a pulled pork sandwich, or a rack of ribs or both. The National Quilt Museum is there, too, which may or may not be of interest to you and your wife. Take care.

Jack, if you are ever around Lexington, Kentucky, let me know and I would be happy to show you some of the great places to eat. Lexington is one of Kentucky's larger cities and has a great hipster food scene (it's a college town as well). Particularly of note is "Smithtown Seafood" a small sea food restaurant tucked inside a local brewery, West 6th Brewing Company (who make great beer). They have some of the freshest and best authentic seafood I have had in Kentucky.

Jack. It sure is interesting watching you get used to living in a new part of the country. I guess they call it culture shock. I know I'd probably be shocked if I transplanted myself out of the south and somewhere else entirely..say, California. But I don't think I will ever do that. Great video though. That BBQ looked absolutely awesome.

Culture Shock! I so enjoy seeing your reaction to the new 'way of life' - the food, attitudes, etc. There is nothing like that down-home cookin'. Loved your show from the day I found your channel but it will be fun to see the new influences creep in - especially when you cook up some venison that you took, or a goose or doves, even some catfish! Try a mess of bluegills for breakfast with corn cakes.

Welcome to my home state to you and your family, Jack. I live in central kentucky next to Lexington. If I may make a suggestion, try a kentucky hot brown. It's a very savory dish, but oh so good!! Oh...and if you guys like ginger ale, there's a soda made right here in my hometown of winchester, Kentucky called Ale-8-One...give it a whirl!! Always enjoy your work...and your travels. Take care good sir!!

I enjoy food, I just don't like seeing dead animals and people like jack acting funny over a dead animal just because he moved to a particular location. I know its a way of life but that doesn't mean you should be any less sensitive towards it.
@jackonthego10 жыл бұрын
You may not like my actions but don't blame it on the south. I acted this way when I picked out my own pig in California and cooked it whole in a La Caja China Box. So let's not start pointing geographical fingers.
@Macdadz6710 жыл бұрын
Jack On The Go Show well then that is you as a person, but then again I can expect that from your country filled with vanity. It's the same as how much emphasis you place on miss america and graduation ceremonies. You base a society filled with reaching fame, fortune and looks if you don't, your a loser, and if your anywhere that is not associated with that, you have to be some guy that takes pride in killing things cold heatedly and feeling like a "man"
@jackonthego10 жыл бұрын
***** So now we understand your frustration. it's your dislike for America as a whole. let's clear up a few things: 1. I didn't kill the pig. I ate it. Then we donated the carcass to a family that used it for dog food treats. So the entire pig was used. 2. I was excited to just be at the event. it was a great time with over 200 people by the river in a beautiful part of the earth. I get excited. I was just as excited about the hush puppies. Funny you didn't comment how cruel I was with that. 3. The best part of this country that you have dislike for is FREEDOM. You have the freedom to not watch and you have to freedom to comment. I respect your freedom either way. I won't delete your comment unless it's offensive or threatening. otherwise I respect your feelings.
@Macdadz6710 жыл бұрын
Jack On The Go Show Yeah but you are aware that your not the only country with "freedom" just saying c'mon. There are other countries actually outside of america you know, and freedom is great, but solely taken as an abstract concept does not necessarily mean great things on the whole, like saying someone with freedom has the right to abuse someone. Your looking from a purely subjective perspective. Even though I overreacted, my opinions are not just simply I don't like america, I just don't like a lot of things about it like many others. It may have come across as though I was generalizing but that can happen when frustrated with something.
@jackonthego10 жыл бұрын
I hear ya. I just want you to know that on my show, I try to treat everyone with the same respect. I am sorry you were bothered by my excitement. In no way did I make fun of the slaughter of animals. I truly enjoy meat and I have never been to such a big event like this. They all were so kind to my family even though we were outsiders. It was just an honor for them to include us in their 21 year old tradition. Wish you could have been there with me. Kids swimming, bbq smoking. Lots of laughs and many elderly people there really enjoyed story telling.

Great get together. I wouldn't worry about your diet anymore Jack. You now live in the land of everything is fat fried including things that shouldn't be fat fried. You seem to fit in very well down in the south (I don't mean any disrespect) I just mean you seem more laid back.
