FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) - Union Pointe Academy in Florence is among many schools across the Tri-State area that were closed Monday due to the weather.
The school's principal, Chad Caddell, left a message to parents like most, but he put his to song in a Facebook message.
Caddell's lyrics, set to Mariah Carey's "Hero," include "Play some Xbox and a smile, drink hot chocolate for a while. You can thank me really soon, here's a snow day just for you." He also jokingly asks parents to not punch him in the face.
He ends with a cough and asks, "Who took my hot tea?"
He told Local 12 that he wrote his parody in about ten minutes. He was part of a similar school closing message in 2014, when he was still with Boone County Schools. They used Bohemian Rhapsody for that message. Caddell said they did that parody after sending out the same boring calls for several days.
The Union Pointe Academy video has been viewed thousands of times and shared hundreds of times as of this writing.
Caddell and Bob Herzog are talking about a possible duet.
