I believe you. My ancestors came to Ky after the Civil War from Fort Boone to the Northern Cumberland Plateau of the region of Eastern Ky with their Cherokee wives. I’m aware the judicial misconduct of some places there. I’m just glad my folks left Southeastern Ky when they got married and then relocated to a blessed land in the mid west due to the dark forces existing in the region. Hopefully, the truth will prevail in this matter while exposing Letcher’s local government cooked court system and corruption.

You have to think the Sheriff did this KNOWING it was a capital crime and illegal...but feeling as if it was not WRONG. That it was the ONLY OPTION and the consequences be damned. He gave himself up. He knew it was over - killing the judge was worth more than a lifetime of freedom - that has to mean the judge was up to some seriously heinous stuff. The same judge that let a deputy use his chambers to r4p3 a woman more than once, which that deputy has pleaded guilty to and is only sentenced to 6 months jail and then 6 years probation. He was a Munfordville city cop or trooper at the time can't remember, then early 2000s he was elected sheriff of Hart Co. I tipped the FBI off on their website. Heard nothing back from them. It was an idiotic move by the state to try and get his defense lawyer bounced. If the state succeeded and this guy was convicted down the road I guarantee you he’d appeal under the grounds of being denied representation in his initial hearings

Since we're all speculating, I think too many are giving credit to this sheriff, saying he was defending his daughters virtue. More likely, the judge had proof of the sheriff doing dirty things, and I can think of a lot of ways a sheriff can abuse his power. Bribes, extortion, false imprisonment, SA of prisoners and subordinates, theft of seized assets, evidence and jury tampering, intimidation and murder. He doesn't talk to his family because he knows all calls are recorded. I'm already convinced he's a liar by trying to say he can't afford a lawyer while still making 115,000 per year and owning his home and has another property. I'd start looking for bodies on that other property.

It’s sad Court TV doesn’t get all the facts before sharing opinions. A FOIA could have given you the info you needed as to why this was done. If more dads done this we would have less SA victims. There are lawsuits over the abuse that happened in those chambers by this judge. It’s sad that the victims in my group had no voice until Mikie stood up. It's pretty stupid to waste so much time on whether he can afford an attorney atm. Obviously, he is in jail and most likely will not get a bond. So give him an attorney if he wants one today. If not, then put the court date off until he can hire an attorney smh Clearly part of the problem with court's, then that DA saying they are the one's who appoint public pretenders is certainly an issue because that just shows they all basically work together or actually to hear the DA speak, they control it all so they can make public pretenders take their pleas or leave someone high and dry.

I'm not sure why you'd ask Ned Pillersdorf for his opinions or "insight" considering he is representing a client who is suing Sheriff Stines. He has a vested legal interest in finding Sheriff Stiles liable/responsible for complicity of crimes committed by his deputy in a civil court. Civil court - no burden of proof of guilt - just need to convince the jury/judge that the defendant is criminally liable. That said - this story/crime - is easy to speculate about from a distance. Very easy to form opinions about. So many questions. I wonder if the truth will actually come out.

I here in Kentucky where this happened. Rumors are swirling around that the sheriff had accused the judge of molesting his daughter. Now, you know how rumors are but this town is really small. It came from somewhere. 🤷🏼‍♀️
