Great radio, 43 years old, pre runner to the 830, and update for the 520. Only niggle some drift slightly, but then they all did, in that age, tubes heated things up, the they wandered, use of crystal ovens helped. Proper AM TX, nice warm tube sound. Great find.

This to be honest sits nice and stable..had it on for good few hours and it just ticked along nicely ..a really nice radio to use

Great video! I just picked up a nice 530s, in great shape,, not quite as pretty as yours though! But still really clean, love the audio on receive as well as the reports on tx, I jokingly refer to as the “poor mans ft101”,, have an older ft-757gxii,, the receive on this Kenwood just crashes it! 73’s,, I’ll look for on the waves.. ,KD2ICI..

I have a nice TS-530SP along with the SM-220 scope, AT-230, and SP-230, and find that the RX is way better than any other radio I've ever used.

I've had a few 5 and 830s over the years and they always do well, this one is special due to condition its in..its definitely staying and commin out on sundays😂

I have one, great rig. Got mine on Ebay for £100, guy even delivered it. I have a ts 520se also. Soon get used to "Tune Up" 👍🇬🇧
