i Just got the truck 600 miles and was 3 days in the shop: Wind washer leaking & anti-freeze & something else.
1.- 35, 000 miles & 3 weeks in the shop: table didn’t work, bunch Squeaks and rattling , doors problems wind was blowing, underskirt Robin was feeling off, transmission software & take 2-3 seconds on down hill to changes in lower gears :( and dash keep turning off. Steering wheel keep coming loosen, Fifth wheel has slack, Heat and A/C the knob is not working, some times the truck is shaking jumping altogether.?
2.- 45-50,000 miles 3 weeks in the shop: termostat Seals, door wind was blowing, dash Bord turning off , Engine transmission dashboard software updates, The Engine didn’t match with the vin ### , and mirror didn’t worm up, and bunch of rattling, Heat and A/C the knob is not working,
3.- 70,000 miles 1.1/2 week in the shop: Oil seals, injector seals, oil consumption 3 gallons on 20,000 miles , alignment, Dashboard turning off, door win blowing, air line cracked up the holes ,
4.- 90,000 miles 1 week in the shop: shock mounting replace, DPF system replace after they replace the PDF system ??, alignment again, Dashboard turning off again, windshield, software update again,
5.- 114,000 miles 15 hours in the shop: Traction control ESP-ABS everything was off, 2 Airline broken, 2 thermostats replaced, the transmission software again, between 6-11 gears up hill takes 4-6 blinks or 2-300 rpm losing up hill In tell the engine starts accelerate again up hill,

50,000 miles hood mirrors start falling of , truck mirrors cover coming loos,
When I ordered def thank 26 gallons they installed 19 gallons , I ordered 10 wheels dura bright evo they installed 6 and the put 4 the cheep inside:( I ordered XDN2 tiers they installed cheaper ones:( I ordered studio sleeper ?? Where’s it’s ?
DPF system replace after they replace the PDF system on I 17 gallons DEF I get 1,500-1,900 miles , One day I can drive 3 gallons of DEF & truck drive 7-8 miles per gallon , one day I can drive 7-10 gallons of DEF & truck drive 5-6 miles per gallon ?? And I bean in the shop 3-4 times and just excuse giving me :(

I even tried to return the truck back in the Kenworth to buy their own truck back :(
I called Paccar, Kenworth Devizion, Eaton transmission nothing- they were blaming each other couldn’t figure out who is the fault :( and every time I was in the shop I try to fight every time they tried to charge me for Service with a 2019 brand new truck $$!!! LOL
First year and I paid already for $4-5000 dollars:(
I Cost of order my truck $-162,000.00

Ive got a 2017 Kenworth T680 I got with 335k on the Cummins x15 and have had absolutely zero issues. Now 19 months later at 525k miles and runs perfect. Just purchased another, a 2019 T680 with the x15 motor with 328k miles. Hope I'm just as lucky. I refuse to own anything but the x15.

@Pragmatico Wrong. A 31 year retired driver that decided to buy a truck a few years ago and work when I want as much as I want. Because I enjoy it and the toys it affords me and the wife. Simple.

I have a 2016 peterbilt. Now on 657,000 on the clock the Paccar engine has been really reliable. This is my second Paccar power plant. I do keep the maintenance up to date. And both engines have been very reliable. For me I will again choose Paccar in my next truck. Most of the problems I have seen is clearly down to the Dealership not the truck. Find yourself a good shop...

I got a 2014 T680 also with the ISX and the only issue I have is that little black arm in the front of my driver's door that keeps the door from opening too wide broke...but as far as mechanical issues...nothing and I have a heavy foot and I still average 7.2-7.5 mpg I had a Cummins mechanic tell me idle as less as possible...don't use cheap diesel and don't go over 9n your oil changes and no issues with the DEF and I'd hardly ever does a regen ...I more than happy !!

I have a 2015 peterbilt 389 car carrier with 515800 miles with a MX13 on it and i all lubes and DPF cleaning at the peterbilt dealer i bought it with 250500 miles in it and honestly my personal opinion excellent engine no problem at all you just had bad luck

Dang, my previous Kenworth that I got back in April of 2016 and ran it until October of 2019 I had just the crankcase ventilation module replaced and a few software updates. I've had my current new truck a Kenworth W990 for a lil over a year and I've had a software update and oil changes to it so far.

What year is your truck? I've heard that the '19s and '20s models doesn't have so many troubles. Also, did you figure out what was wrong with yours?

That's such a shame to. I've actually seen a lot of people have great luck with those T680's. Just might be that you were burdened with one of the lemon ones. Hopefully they can work out all the bugs and keep you rolling! Be safe out there!

Ive had nothing priblems with my 2019 kenworth t680. I replaced king pins, shocks, steer tires, nox sensor, def quality sensor, turbo actuator, and its have def problems now. The truck just turned 440,000 miles. I will never buy a paccar engine truck again.

I feel bad for him, this is how I was with a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia with a DD15. I pulled through it and I have a 2017 Cascadia with a DD15. I have had better luck with this one. I was looking at truck reviews because I’m about to order a new one and wanted to switch over to peterbilt or kw.

@@mgp-bct7723 yeah I saw this morning. I like the new dash and the camera on the mirrors for the Pete. Why did you go for the paccar over the cummins at the time? I’m undecided on which engine to go. I want it automated but I don’t know how the cummins will perform with the auto trans. I will get the extended warranty either way I go.

13 or 18 manual or CT-10 Allison with 510 or 530 hp Paccar if you want KW or Peterbilt ? Axel ration on seed 70 mph with 1300rpm :)

paccar is giving issues after 50000/100000 mostly software crap,,based on all the owner operator reviews i have seen but i feel sorry for this guy , hes lost his voice not fair n responsibiity is on kw n his dealers

It’s better to buy a truck with around 200k warranty, most trucks have most things fixed by then and you don’t have to deal with all them little things

Sounds like more like fit and finish and computer issues more than anything . I expected like EGR coolers , turbos , injectors , engine harnesses , radiators and all the good Volvo stuff

Solution find a good Jew lawyer and sue paccar, i know many who did. I have a kenworth with Cummins, but won't own another. Poor quality,and the paccar engine is a joke!
