Kenya deploys security personnel to bandit-prone areas

Hundreds of Kenyan police officers and military personnel have been deployed to areas badly hit by cases of banditry and cattle rustling in the east African country. They've been directed to clamp down on the crimes that have for many decades forced local communities to live in fear, with criminals displacing many people from their homes and children from schools.
