I'm a Black American living in Nairobi. No one talks about kenya because media outside of Africa want the world to think AFrica is only safari animals, and poor people. And American and European travelers to Kenya, who are not black, only make their travel videos about the slums and safari animals even though 90% of their visit was spent in the upscale areas of kenya and not in the slums or with animals

I like how you have described every point. Kenya has everything. Did you know Mt. Kenya has a little snow? Some places have snow maybe once after 2-3 yrs. Kenya is a place you find yourself. There is no hurry and there is no problem (hakuna matata). We are very spiritual. If you find time visit one of the villages to learn the culture and see if you fit that culture. Then learn the language. There you will belong to them. Nairobi is just a meeting place to work for government.

Kenya is a social place, indeed! Here in America, I have lived with the same neighbors since 2005, and we speak, I'd say, once every 1-2 years if we run into each other cranking cars to drop kids or if we accidentally meet in the nearby grocery store. If you are into total isolation and boring life, the USA is good for you. You can have an 8-bedroom house, but guaranteed those bedrooms will stay unoccupied for life because no one visits you. Being a Kenyan or immigrant like me, it is even worse! The only advantage is America can make you stinking rich if you know how to earn, invest, and spend!

With dating i think a single woman relocating will find it difficult. That's a conservative country. The men will expect the women to play a role. Unfortunately American women are too independent and modernized to submit to a man. Men will definitely do better because most men still hold traditional values.
@brosteve-qu2cj8 сағат бұрын
I think the right word is westernized,not modernized
@naima52208 сағат бұрын
Wokenized if it's a word at all
@feloh258 сағат бұрын
Funnily though, AA women will do better in Kenya because it's easier to submit to masculine men. Like for instance, African men don't exchange words with women. I see AA men having word exchanges with women all the time, trying to out-sass their sisters. Always been weird to me.
@naima52207 сағат бұрын
@feloh25 expression of the thing called love is also different, I saw one complaining she was not been called all the time, her man was not touchy (pda) unless they get one who has lived in the west difference in cultures will be a problem, AA women think we are weak and enslaved for accepting culture of submissiveness whether it's kneeling to elders hubby not talking back,etc if they are out to party that's different but settling will require sacrifices and learning culture and traditions of the tribe she settles in, be ready for heartbreak it happens to women all over the world irregardless
