This is a very convoluted funding model it should be scrapped. It doesn't make sense at all. When you see 50% of the qualifying eligible students - (govt funded students) not applying for funding-Helb then it speaks volumes. The model is faulty and unsuitable. Fund all students equally no to discrimination - then make the loan repayment friendly - irrespective of how long a loanee takes one should not repay more than 20% of total funding received, this will encourage beneficiaries to pay currently the penalties are just too high not justified so people just keep off paying back, especially those who were unable to pay & delayed for one reason or another.

When was that?😂😂 Cos as far as I can remember, since 2018 I have been paying 40000 per academic year i.e 20000 per semester. Besides, I have been receiving a loan of 18500 per semester which is not even close to offsetting my school fees if I used it for other basic needs. To be honest, this model is awesome. Politics aside, the model is good!

It is worse as the student will be in debt entrapment like in US. This is just a copy from USA, and it has failed. And if the student doesn't get employment in just 5yrs, the loan interest will be three of four times.
