The Housing project is a good idea in so many ways but the issue is the way ots funded. Raiding peoples pay slips is not the way. Instead the govt should raise funds by issuing a Bond whereby Kenyans can recieve dividends. Source of funds are many. Diaspora remittances which have hit 670b. Banks who have been ripping abnormal profits and need to put that money to work. Pension funds are holding a trillion shillings. Individuals who would like a save invetsment and an income. Chamas, coopertaives and govt pension funds.

Everyone agrees we need affordable housing otherwise we get overwhelmed by slums whereby half of nairobi from the air will lok like a slum. Affordable housing was there going back decades the problem was no one knew how exactly to implement it. Affordable Housing is a big issue even in developed worlds . Do i trust ruto absolutely not. You don have to raid peoples pay checks to pay for housing you just need to have a housing Bond. Thats was my point. The ripple effects of mass building of houses are huge. It ;lowers cost of living making rents affordable. landlords will be forced to lower their rents since Kenyans will have more choices, creates jobs and enhances social happiness.
