The way gp999 is that 99 girls (33Korean, 33Chinese, 33Japenese) were given ranks before the show started. Based on their performance of the gp999 theme song O.O.O. So when the show started they already had their ranks. K1 was Dayeon, J1 was Hikaru, and C1 was Xiaoting. when they final lineup came, Chaehyun was ranked 1 making her the official center, Hiyyih was ranked 2, Yujin was ranked 3, Dayeon was ranked 4, Youngeun was ranked 5, Yeseo was ranked 6, Hikaru was ranked 7, Mashiro was ranked 8, Xiaoting was ranked 9. A lot of them already had a small following except for Bahiyyih, she has a huge follwing and she has her own fandom called Hiyyihlights and she was actually ranked 1 in 115 countries. So she's more popular internationally.

just to clear your confusion : xiaotings mention the rank and nth member to be announce bcse during the final , they are announced starting from 8th place. so for example , xiaotings said "mashiro ranked 8th and announced first"

PLEASE REACT TO THE FATE PERFORMANCE FROM GP999! Yeseo, Yujin, and Xiaoting were all apart of that team and it made the coaches, other contestants, and the viewers all cry because it was so emotional. Yeseo also took the role of the ‘killing part’ aka the center. She used her acting and idol experience to convey the perfect emotions through her facial expressions. The story behind it was about the 99 girls coming together all fighting for the same dream. Girls who didn’t know each other but quickly became friends. They were fated to meet and it is sad to see their friends be eliminated after becoming so important to each other throughout their journey.
