Thanks for making your tutorials :) Almost all of my team's seasoned members will be off to college next year, so these will really come in handy for explaining some concepts.

Thanks for watching! I wanted to make these because my team had no seasoned veterans, so I was basically teaching myself everything. Some things were pretty difficult, so I decided to try and help newer competitors in their competitive journey.

This is perfect because my team and I are planning on integrating a chain bar into our robot for this season. This video was clear and explained how chain bars work well. Thanks!

This’ll be super useful for this season’s game!

What are some examples of the chain tighteners you mentioned?
@owenelmburg63625 жыл бұрын
Hey Kepler, couldn’t you just put 1/8” shaft inserts that have a circular hole in the sprocket so you don’t have to put the motor on the bar that’s being lifted?
@KeplerElectronics5 жыл бұрын
That actually should work! I didn’t realize that you could do that when making this, but next time I make a chain bar, I’ll definitely use that technique. Thanks for letting me know about this!

Does using chain create more torque than regular gears?
@KeplerElectronics5 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe that it creates more torque, as the sprockets are the same size, but it is both simpler and lighter than using gears.

Where did you learn these designs? Other team's? etc.
@KeplerElectronics4 жыл бұрын
A lot of these designs are commonly used in the VEX program, I figured out basically how they work from looking at old robots, and then found an easily buildable and showable way for the video.

@@KeplerElectronics Just wanted to say that I really appreciate these videos. If only you posted these 4 years ago when I started vex :)

What’s the max weight that could lift?
@KeplerElectronics4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the strength of the chain and the torque of the motor

So what's a chain tensioner?
@KeplerElectronics4 жыл бұрын
It's anything that you add that the chain runs around. It's usually used to reduce slop in the chain so it has less chance to skip over the sprockets or catch on things.

@@KeplerElectronics Oh, that's pretty simple. Also wow, fast reply! Love your videos btw!

Good video. Hey Kepler...have you played a game called Keroblaster before? :)
