Kerala Egg Puffs

മൊട്ട പഫ്‌സും തണുത്ത നാരങ്ങാവെള്ളവും ഒരു കാലത്തെ സ്‌കൂൾ/ കലാലയങ്ങളിലെ ഗൃഹാതുരത്വം ഉണർത്തുന്ന ഒരുപാട് വികാരതീവ്രമായ സ്മരണകൾ നമുക്ക് സമ്മാനിച്ചവയാണ്... പന്തയം ജയിച്ച് കഴിച്ച മൊട്ട പഫ്സിന്റെ രുചികൾ ഒരിക്കലും മറക്കാനാകാത്തതാണ് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഓർമകളിലെ മൊട്ട പഫ്സിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം എന്താണ്..?
Kerala Egg Puffs..! A popular snack of kerala now can be made at home!!!
For the egg masala
Eggs - 3 (soft boil the egg for 7 minutes)
Onions sliced-3
Green chillies-3
Ginger - 20gm
Curry leaves-few
Coconut oil-30ml
Fennel seeds- 5gm
Turmeric powder-5gm
Chilly powder- 10gm
Garam masala - 5gm
Tomato sauce- 15gm
Salt to taste
Egg wash
Egg- 1 (beaten with a T spoon of water)
In pot heat coconut oil add fennel seeds ginger curry leaves green chillies and onions sauté till onions transparent add all the spices, tomato sauce and slow cook till the masala gets dry consistency. Check the seasoning.
For the puffs use Swits puff porotta dough cut in to square and in the middle add the masala and half of the boiled egg and fold it over the pastry and brush the puff lightly with the egg wash. Pre heat the oven 200* and bake the puff for 20-22 minutes till golden and puffed. Serve hot with Tomato ketchup and a Kerala chai or fresh lime soda!
