How to reach Poovar:-
The nearest Airport to reach Poovar is Thiruvananthapuram & it is around 30 Kms away.
By Train: The nearest railway station is also in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum Central). From there, you can take a taxi, bus, or hire a private vehicle to reach Poovar.
By Road: Poovar is well-connected by road. You can drive to Poovar from Thiruvananthapuram or hire a taxi. Regular bus services are also available from Thiruvananthapuram and other major towns in Kerala.
Renting a bike is also a convenient option
By Water: If you're coming from Kovalam, there are boat services available to Poovar.
Accommodation:- There are numerous accommodation options available in Poovar to suit various budgets and preferences like Resorts and Hotels, Homestays & Ayurvedic Resorts etc. There are floating cottages also available to be booked online.
Poovar is known for its serene backwaters, golden sand beaches, and lush greenery. Poovar is famous for its estuary where the Neyyar River meets the Arabian Sea, creating a unique ecosystem. Visitors can enjoy boat cruises, Ayurvedic treatments, and tranquil beach walks in Poovar.
Azimal Shiva temple is near to poovar beach around 7 Kms. its known for it’s picturesque surroundings and its significance in Hindu mythology and religious practices. The temple timing is 5.30 to 11.00 am & 5.00pm to 08.00 pm.
