I am from Kerala. It's in the southern part of India and is referred as God's Own Country.. The clip with the swords is called Kalaripayattu (Indian Martial Arts).. The one with Elephants all decked up and huge crowd is a festival only celebrated in Kerala called Pooram, This one is the most famous of it Called Trishur Pooram (Trishur is a place in Kerala). The one with the long boats and flower decoration is for another Kerala Festival called Onam, wherein we welcome our ancestoral king Mahabali( you should read about him to know more) and that is a boat race fest during that time which is a huge hit... U should visit Kerala to experience it from up close😊

The elephants are lined up for a festival called 'Pooram' held in a town called Thrissur. Hence it is more popularly known as Thrissur Pooram. You could have a look at that particular video too as it accompanied with drums which again has a mesmerising, rhythmic ( for lack of a better word) beat to it.

The thing with all the elephants lined up is actually an early celebration on a perticular occasion..... So there are these two famous temples in that village, both of these temples have hundreds of pet elephants, and they have an early friendly competition of showing off the glory and beauty of their own temples.... So they stand in front of each other with their elephants and show off.... and each temple has elements of surprise to beat d other one..... It's really spectacular.

The elephants were lined up in a row its from " Kerala thrissur pooram". Its a festival in a temple occurs in every summer. You can easily google it. Elephants have a important possession in Kerala temples during festival. The lady was decorating the floor with flower petals. Its called " Onam pookalam". Onam is one of the most important hindu festival in Kerala which has a strong root to hindu mythology. The festival last for 10 days and each day in the morning we have to make flower carpet in front of our homes which is a symbol of welcoming happiness, wealth, and the most important is welcoming the demon king ( a good demon who ruled Kerala once but who was send back into the hell and by seeing how good he was, god gave him one day to came back from hell to visit the people of Kerala, to see how happy they live and he returns back to hell and that's why we celebrate ONAM.) Each day we have to make flower carpets and each the the size has to increase and different designs too. So on the 10th day a huge flower carpet. The lady who does with her neck is one of the most traditional dancces of Kerala called "Mohiniaatam". The video shows mostly all the traditional dances and art forms, the religious trinity Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. And different festival that are conducted in each SEASON'S. The people how were sitting on the boat is a traditional boat race called " Vallam kali" One of them will win. There are a lot of things to explain in this video from begin to end which may take so much time.

At 3:42, that was Neelkurinji flower. It blooms every 12 years in a national park of Kerala(I forgot name). Every 12 years many visitors visit there just to see that flower. Well it recently bloomed in 2018 so we have to wait for next 12 yrs. 😄😊

Kerala's Martial art called 'Kalari Payattu' ( shown in this video 2.44) is the oldest martial art in this world and it is still practising in Kerala (especially in North Kerala) 3#. Highest literacy rate in India 4#. Highest Human Development Index in India (and competing with many European countries) 5#. Kerala is the only state in India classified by the UN to have high human development since it has a score greater than 0.7 (in a scale of 0-1). This small Indian *state itself alone(even though it is not a country) is ranked 130rd along with all other *Country by UN. 6#. Highest Life expectancy in India (and it compatible with international level). 7#. Number one Less mortality rate in India. 8#. Less corrupted state in India according to 2018 survey. 9#. Highest sex ratio in India 10#. There are 2 art forms of Kerala (1.Koodiyaattam-former form of Kathakali [1.08] and Mudiyettu) out of 9 Indian art forms are listed by UNASCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. 11#. Cheramaan Juma Mosque( in this video 3.01) is the oldest mosque in the Asia itself. 12#. Kerala is probably the only state in India where Ayurveda is used as a mainstream medicine.(shown in this video(2.40 - 2.52). And Ayurvedic treatment is one of tourism strategy of Kerala. And more over Kerala is extremely different in terms of culture and tradition from all other Indian states. Kerala is the most religious friendliest state in India where yoi can't find any religious discrimination as like in Northern part of India. And if you talk about landscape Kerala is called GOD'S own country. Since it is most beautiful state in India. We do use plates to eat. But during special festival days like vishu, onam and birthdays we eat the traditional meal (oonu) in leaves. There is a lot more to it than just eating from the way the leaves r washed with water and food served in a particular order to the way the leaves r folded once we finish eating.
