The cross linking will prevent you having to have corneal transplant, dependent on how severe and how much it progresses! I am getting mine done this month getting my left eye done which is bad and my right wye done a month later with surface laser hopefully it will go well

Adoraria me aprofundar mais nisso. Espero que haja uma descoberta em breve.

Same with me, my right eye has decent vision and my left eye is totally fucked. Hey, be careful wearing RGP/rigid contact lenses. I have been doing tons of research on Keratoconus and I'm almost certain that rigid lenses can or will eventually cause corneal scarring (which the only cure for is cornea transplant). I would look into scleral lenses which are the current state-of-the-art for Keratoconus patients. They are annoying as hell to use though, and I'm in the process of getting some and so far they are not working at all..., so there's that...

Have you look into hybrid contacts? They are extremely more comfortable than rigid or sclera contacts. It's a soft lens with a hard middle

Hello i am 6 months post cross linking surgery stil have double vision wil it be cured wirh in one year
@SecretMustashSociety3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your video. Im doing the cross linking next week, and feel really worried and scared that things will get worse. I have a mild keratoconus, which means im almost only bothered by it if im really tired or stressed. I have one good eye, and one a bit worse. Im wondering if its worth doing the crosslinking... but im a bit paranoid haha. How is your eye sight now without lenses or glasses? Has it improved or is it the same? And how long was your recovery time, when could you go back to your normal life?
@ByranDigital3 жыл бұрын
Might eyesight has pretty much stayed the same I believe. Recovery was only about a couple of weeks. Had major pain the day of and day after surgery but my vision cleared up after a couple of weeks. I would advise getting cross-linking done especially if your doctor has suggested it. It will ensure your eyesight doesn’t get any worse because of keratoconus. My condition has now stabilised with no signs of my condition getting any worse.

Everyone worried about if it will help but then no one talking about if the surgery hurts
@ByranDigital3 жыл бұрын
I have some videos talking about the surgery itself. But long story short - it doesn’t hurt but is mildly uncomfortable.

I have Keratoconus on one eye I can totally relate. I’m wearing glasses now, My question is when you got your big lenses. Did you vision improve 20/20 and is there any cons for them?
@raeganbutterfly084 жыл бұрын
I wanna know how long before you get the scleral as well.
@A42yearoldARAB3 жыл бұрын
I got them recently, it does not get everyone to 20/20 it only got me to 20/40 but I'm only 4 months after the operation. I could definitely see better before and with soft lenses. The cons are cost and lense awareness. It feels like you have something in your eye especially at first.
@A42yearoldARAB3 жыл бұрын
I'm 4 months in and it definitely made my vision worse. Hopefully it clears up at a year, but I don't think it will :/

About how long before you got your new lens?
@ByranDigital4 жыл бұрын
Errrrrmmm I it wasn’t that long. In fact I was scared that I got a new legs too soon. And maybe I did because I’ve got a new lens since then. But I think it was around 3/4 months.
@raeganbutterfly084 жыл бұрын
@@ByranDigital were you able to wear your old one in the mean time?
@ByranDigital4 жыл бұрын
@@raeganbutterfly08 I don’t believe so. I could get by without a contact lens. Also after CXL your cornea May change shape so an old lens may not be the right fit.

@@ByranDigital I don’t think I can live without mine 😭 thanks for responding.
@ByranDigital4 жыл бұрын
@@raeganbutterfly08 no worries. Your vision will be blurry for a while afterwards anyway.
