Hello and welcome to What Da Math.
In this introductory video I will try to demonstrate why it's not that easy to get into space and why going directly up will not actually help you achieve the necessary orbit.
Thank you and please subscribe!

I started watching you because of your Universe Sandbox and SpaceEngine videos, and these videos got me into Kerbal Space Program years ago. Thanks dude, love your content

Door Monster, a YT channel, did a series of live actor vids based on this. Excellent! I visited Cape Kennedy while the U.S. space station was on the launch pad. Tiny, tiny black dot at the bottom, visual confusion, ant? Oh. Huge 16 wheel truck with tanks. Oh. The rocket is just ... bigger.

note that in space it was only 11 or so KN because you have burned the fuel and the vessel weighted abot 1/4 of the original so the force in space is not 1/8 but about 1/2

This is why the Asparagus design works so well. Shedding mass when its no longer useful.

I think that the force of gravity and the force of air resistance were actually perfectly balanced towards the end of the video. Because the forces were equally balanced, the spacecraft didn't accelerate. There was no resultant force. Newton's second law of motion fo ya.

the gravity is the same it's the diameter of the planet 1/10 of earths.He should have done a gravity turn around 2000 and be 45 at 12000 to save half of his fuel and burnt at apoapsis. Orbital speed is 2200 on kerbin

You could run around the bottom of the ship going faster and faster then jump sideways and boom up up you go. I did this when I was little. Running around the outside of the house. When I started going up I got scared because I was afraid I'd leave the universe. I started kicking trying to come down and I did. Lol True story.

Anton, are you kidding me?! The aerodynamics (drag force) is equal to gravity, so your speed is constant. How do you want to explain math or physics to people, when you don't even understand basics concepts like 1st Newton's law of motion?! You are just a joke!
@RadicalCaveman
@RadicalCaveman 2 жыл бұрын
The speed of a spaceship is NOT constant and aerodynamic drag has nothing to do with gravity.
