Rocketry most likely falls under the purview of Caelus (Uranus.) not only is Caelus (the latin root of celestial) associated with sky and Caelus Nocturnus (night sky,) but is identified as the God *and* also as a Place, The Place where the Gods reside (Olympus.) so as Neptune (Poseidon) would have been to explorers of the earthbound seas of classical antiquity, Caelus is to modern explorers set forth from our tiny cosmic shores into the great black sea of eternal night.

If you leave your debris from making all sorts of spacecrafts, that wont fall to the planet by itself in kerbin orbit you can set up a debris collector later and send this debree to a planet of your choice as a bunch of inpacters. No need to burn it in a athmosphere, it can still be usefull for your space program.

caddilacbob Yeh, but it's not like you need a massive object. He can just chuck a few 1, or even .5m fuel tanks onto decouplers (or stack separators for extra rain) and toss them in the general direction of the planet. Nah, Minmus wasn't really touched on that heavily, from what I remember. I'm guessing he'll make a mission similar to the Silica miner for it once he dries the Mün of science.

Wouldn't a twin docking port set be a lot more handy/precise for this? Yeah, it's a bit difficult to set up, but assuming both ports snapped in, you'd know exactly where all your COMs are. And it might be even easier to make them compatible since the game has subassemblies now!

Does anyone ever think that their game's physics might just have something wrong with them? or am i the only one? Every single plane i have ever built in ksp just doesnt seem to want fly, it keeps pitching down, 'flipping the F out', even the stock ones that come with the game dont fly well, even they keep pitching down and are very slow to respond, the ones i build are quicker to respond and more stable but they just keep pitching down!!!..Can anyone seriously help me with this!?? Houston, i think we have a problem
@carolinesteinberg22010 жыл бұрын
lol ur funny houstons on hold
@monsterbash97586 жыл бұрын
Unlike these rude and simple-minded trolls are trying to imply, SAS will not always solve this problem (though I do always fly with it on. If it's pitching down, first make sure your center of lift is behind the center of mass (fueled and unfueled) but not by a whole lot. Just a little bit behind is all you need and if you keep it closer you'll get better control. Adding canards also helped me when I got this (an extra pair of little wings near the front of the plane). They'll also help you take off more easily.

So naturally i decided to make one in kerbal. I created the weapon and got it to orbit, and put control probes on the inert missiles on the extirior but I cant control the missile to target little rovers on the ground. How do i decouple them and fly them to their target?

I'm not sure about gods, but father of rocketry is Sergey P. Korolev, or Wherner Von Braun, depends which you prefer. Personally I prefer Korolev, because he put first satellite in orbit, so he technically is the father, but that doesn't matter, both did great things. But the father of theoretical stuff, and basically "inventor" of spaceflight is Konstantin Tsiolkovsky. Yeah, God Konstantin sounds good.

I have a potentially stupid question about RCS.... IF electricity was "infinite" would Ion-thruster based RCS be viable. I tried making it work in Sandboc mode..... but I forgot I needed a second set of thrusters pointing the other way to even have a chance to rotate
@Tomtom8898310 жыл бұрын
It would be, but you still need xenon gas for ion thrusters to work.
@timothymclean10 жыл бұрын
In KSP or in real life? In KSP, you'd need to mod it in (or, more likely, ask someone who knows how to make halfway-good-looking KSP part models to help you with it), and it would probably not help you rotate much more than the reaction wheels do, but it's possible. In real life, it's probably going to be hampered by the fact that the lightest ion engines appear to still weigh a few kilograms, so putting in a full rotating system would be tough.
@artos60710 жыл бұрын
Timothy McLean the only thing that really works on pure electricity is probably Q-Thrusters, its the upgraded plasma thruster, other than say, magnetic sails, solar sails don't need fuel, but they don't run on electricity. All of limitations.
