Could you imagine The Chicken Chronicles being released today? Teenage drug use and underage sex would not be suitable topics for a mainstream film in 2021! 1969 was only eight years before 1977, the year this film was released. It's like having a movie today set in 2013! 2013- that wild and wacky year (not)!

It's like American Grafitti which was released in 1973 and it's set in 1962, just nine years before. The cultural changes in these 9 years was immense, so it was already suitable to look back with nostalgia for a time that wasn't even that long ago.
