Our first Constitution was created in 1970 and the second came in 1997 and that is 27 years apart. Now from 1997, we trying to come up with another one in 2024 which is another 27 years apart..My question is , is that how often we change Constitution or is that just one big coincidence? 2+7 = 9 and 9 is a complete number, the end of a beginning of another era hmmmm..Who is coming to an end and who is beginning a new era?

Indeed. It is worth looking into .The numbers seems to favor Gambia.Just like when that 11-11-22 event was canceled for Gambians to not matched and show their solidarity because the Islamic Supreme councils intervened. That was a bad moved for those numbers favored us as Gambians and here we go again with the issue of a Constitution that is supposed to protect the citizens and not individuals, or groups or parties or clans because at the end of the day, when it is all said and done, every one who ever held a position of a lower rank or higher rank will eventually leave those offices or positions and become a civilian like any other ordinary citizen and you going to need the Nation Constitutional laws to be there to protect your rights and your family. So I don't get the idea of anyone trying to customized a Constitution and wants to personalize it to fit into their own narrative onlly to protect them when in fact it is there to protect everyone and all Gambian citizens whether you are in office or not and most importantly to protect the future of our children and the coming generations to come..We need to be thinking about how to protect the future of our Nation and not make it about protecting individual's interests or groups .It will not work for them because our world is evolving and Gambia, 60 years ago is not Gambia heading into the 21st century..Nations are changing, the World as we know it is changing faster and As Gambians we must also change and be progressive thinkers, otherwise we will set ourselves up for failure.

Where was the CSO when government throw the 2020 draft constitution?No body is stupid here. The best thing the CSO can do is go and tell the government to bring back the 2020 draft in its original form
