I fancied myself becoming a glass bead artist once. When faced with the prospect of working with fire, well let’s just say I still wonder what I’d be like . Now I work with beads and wire wrap them, string then and all other manner of things with them. I love beads and am very grateful to folks like you who aren’t so afraid of the fire. You do lovely work and are a ver good instructor.

Hi Patience! Thank you you so much for your feedback! When I first started making beads I didn't think I would pursue it as a craft, the fire was not my friend at first! lol! But I'm glad I persisted and after all this time I love creating beads more than ever. Thanks for watching my videos and for your feedback. I hope you'll check out the new video I just posted today! :)

Kerry this was wonderful!! As someone else said, you have the perfect voice for narrating a tutorial. I am not a lampshade (haha, autofill, too cute~ I’ve gotta leave it!), anyway, I am not a lampworker, nor do I have any designs to be, but I am a collector, and it was fascinating to see how you make your hearts!! I’d like to see the press as well! Great job! See you next week! 🙂

Thank you so much, Kerri! So excited to watch you work - a wish come true. Also love your hints about protecting the ends. My only suggestion is to try to position the camera so that we can see more of what your other hand is doing and less of the airspace around the mandrel. I know that will be super tricky! The sound came through perfectly. The technique absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing. I have always loved your work, and am lucky enough to have a bead of yours from the Albuquerque Gathering.

Need to see the press the hearts I am making is without a press and the bottom is off the the side and would help to see the press and the pressing seen just a bit more tilted up to see the work

Great bead, thank you. I need to practise my scroll work, yours is so elegant in comparison! I'm curious about your choice of Effetre white as a core - I would usually decide to use a stiffer glass like Effetre clear 004 (the cheaper, scummy one) for this technique. Does the softer glass core have an advantage in the press, or does having white underneath do something for the colour of the red?
@rosalienellartglass

I was also wondering about the core choice? Is there a reason not to use just the red? Loving your tutorials and calm presentation 🙂
