That's good to know. I also got a Japanese made Kershaw as a groomsman's gift (not my brother) about 18 or so years ago. My EDC knife is a Kershaw Scallion, and I love it. Thanks again for the info!

Good to hear Sootch....I have a Kershaw Blkst--the black blur bandle with the black 14c talon blade (speedsafe) and the spring broke inside...I'm still waiting back for the shop to get back to me...While I was in the shop, another shop employee pulled out his Kershaw (a older model) and said his spring had broken too...So...if you can I'd probably try to get a spring or 2 for back up...Love Kershaw's knives never the less...

100% agreed with ya sootch! my scallion's torsion bar (the spring) just recently broke and i got ahold of them and they sent me 2 torsion bars, and a tool with 2 torx bits and a philips bit! very pleased!

i've been impressed with kershaws customer service as well. enjoy the clash! look forward to your thoughts on it. you may want to put some oil or rust inhibitor on the blade due to the bead blast coating.

@FrenziedCalm That's probably true. I was just trying to figure out why they asked if it had sentimental value if they weren't going to send it back. I guess they just keep that option open to be able to send the send the knife back with a credit.

Excellent knife company! Bought one off a friend at work, its the 1620RD. The speed safe is a nice quick(legal) way of having a quick deployment of a blade. Like always good review vid sootch!

Kershaw will also resharpen your knife, at no charge, if you send it to them. You'll have to pay the shipping out to them. I recently bought the Kershaw Breakout 7000 in blue from BladeOps. Free shipping, good pricing, good customer service. I had a question, left a message, and they did call me back. Check them out.

I love kershaw i had a leek which i broke the tip off a few years back so i sent the knife about 6 months ago and no questions asked they sent me a new one.

My kershaw blur is my favorite I own. I wonder if they'll give me a new one because I'm missing one of the serrated teeth on it after cutting through a live power cable.

i am in middle of same process with an older knife ...just haven't got around to sending it to them yet.....mine happens to have been sold under the craftsman logo so doesn't have a kershaw model number that i or their rep on the phone could find...so will let u know what happens..basically its a spring assisted knife and the spring itself cracked....ive had it and carried it since '02 tho so can't complain considering all the abuse ive put it through...

@angelsfan26 It's been my experience that if you find a knife on the company's website and it doesn't say Made in US, it's not. I bought a Benchmade with an axis lock. I chose it over the Kershaw because side by side, the Benchmade was a beefier knife. It cost me more but I only have to buy it once so I went for the better knife. I'm very happy with it. I've been beating it up a bit to see if it's going to hold up and it's impressed me so far.

I sent two knives to kershaw/kai for warranty. One I've had for a long time and the rubber grip insert fell out. It was made in Japan. I paid shipping both ways and after 2 months I got both back just like I sent them. 20 bucks down the drain, no repair, no replace no nothing. I will never buy anything from them again.

I'm always looking for good customer service. If I don't get it; than I'm not buying. Nutnfancy has put Me on the bench but once again sootch's reviews push me off. P.S tactical defender is pretty damn slow whn it comes to ordering. I feel like I'm ordering out of a catalogue when I order from them.
