I used mine today to open a package of chicken sausages from Publix. This is my EDC now. You can also get them at Amazon for $27.

Seen this knife at a pawn shop for 15 bucks. As soon as I saw Kershaw I wanted it. Blade tip was chipped so I got it down to 10 bucks. Put a nice new tip, took it apart, cleaned, oiled and put a new edge. Now it's my favorite edc out of the 40 plus knives I own.

You just can't beat them in my opinion.

Great review and very helpful. I was tossing-up between these 2 knives but leaning toward the Volt 2. After watching your review my mind is now made up ... I will be getting the Volt 2.

Thanks for your review. I almost purchased the Kershaw OSO Sweet but then found your review. Taking your advice (and Nutnfancy), I bought the Kershaw Volt II right away. Not too many deer on the streets of Chicago, but I once saw a herd of 100 or more deer at at the edge of the tree line in a Chicago forest preserve at dusk. It was the middle of evening rush hour, close to 6 PM, hundreds of people sitting in there cars on W. Irving. The deer at the edge of the tree line in Chicago is a scene I will never forget. Thanks for great review.

Cowboy, I did purchase the Volt II and I enjoy it. Now I need to sharpen it. Can I ask, how do you sharpen your Volt II. Any advice? Thanks.
@this-Cowboys-Ride7 жыл бұрын
Richard Kraneis I sharpen it just like I do every other knife. I use a 3 sided stone with honing oil. Pay particular attention to the angle that you hold it so as to not change the way the blade was ground. It should be razor Sharp within 5-10 minutes

Cowboy, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. My Camillus, Smith, and other gimmick sharpeners don't work so well. What kind of 3 sided stone do you recommend? It also might be worth a video. Best Wishes, Richard

Cowboy, I just purchased the Kershaw Ultra-Tek Blade Sharpener for this knife and it helped a bit. The knife is sharper but not sharp enough. Could you tell me the brand and model of the 3 sided stone you use for sharpening? Thanks. My Volt II is my favorite knife. Richard

I know old video, but I bought 4 of those knives just to have them around... I don't know what it is -- you just fall in love with them.

Hey Ron, thanks for posting this review. Just wanted to share some info with you. That "OSO" in this video is a knockoff. Easy way to tell is the frame screws. If you look at the frame screws on the Volt II and compare, you'll see that the screws go all the way through from the non-clip side and are held captive by nuts on the clip side. That is how they are supposed to be on a legit OSO, but from what I can see in your video, you knife has screws on both side of the knife. Don't take my word for it. Contact KAI USA. They can look at pics of your knife and confirm. I was recently sold 2 clones by an eBay seller. When they came in, the quality was noticeably lower than my legit OSO. BTW, the pattern on a legit OSO is different than the one on the knockoffs. Thanks again for your time and effort. Sorry about the bad news.

The clip gets caught on my seat belt, so I removed it and took most of the curve out with a vice and reinstalled it.

That eBay oso sweet is a clone :( you can tell because the pocket clip doesn’t billboard ‘Kershaw’ as well as the markings on the blade being in the wrong locations/size/fonts. Still the clones are almost exactly as good as the real ones from kershaw. The real ones can be found around $25-50 depending on retailer (50 if you order directly from kershaw) and I think that the real difference between them is in the heat treat. But either is an excellent option and the clones may even give you a better bang for your buck than the original

Agreed the Volt ii is a 10/10 and the Oso Sweet is a 8/10. On my scale The Volt 2 is 2/10 ounce heavier.

Morning cowboy. There are so many small differences in knifes I can see how one would be confused. One of my favorite knifes is the one that fit my hand perfectly. Did you get some meat?

That's because you are from the south you won't ever hear a up north Yankee that can clean and proses a deer with a pocket knife but I done it for the last 47 years but they think you need a saw a hatchet and 5 different knives but we know that's not so lol
