"Most people gain their skillsets in the first 1 to 5 years of training, not age" Although this argument is very encouraging, I find it hard to believe: have any scientific studies been carried out to confirm it?
@KeshArt9 ай бұрын
@@the_guy_with_orange_glasses I have gained this insight from my own personal experience and personally mentoring other. I don't have any specific study to point to and I understand that won't be enough. But it's worth looking into a book called "the first 20hrs" which argues that you can gain proficiency in a narrowly defined skill within the first 20hrs of deliberate practice. (I've found this to be fairly true is the skill is defined and small) What I would suggest is, instead of looking for a study to prove whether this is credible, I'd recommend that you perform the study yourself by defining the hypothesis, the variables and see if it works. - pick a narrowly defined subject in drawing (ex - drawing Boxy characters) - Use the learning framework in the Book mentioned above. (20hrs of delibrate practice) - Make a judgement based on the results Hope that's useful :)

My drawing was herrendous but this video was a banger really and it did help me a lot more than I expected it to 😊🎉

I always drew as a kid , but until September last year, I actually started practicing my drawing skills, focused on one particular subject at a time and trying to improve on it, getting my fundamentals right etc... And now, a couple of months later, I can proudly say I improved by a lot. It took me 2-3 months of hardwork and passion to get to this stage. And its only just the beginning... I just want to say if your really wanna do something, no matter what it is,pls put in the work for it and it surely will pay off.

One reason why people believe that they cannot draw is because they compare their art with others! Which is not actually how it should be! I mean you can take inspiration, but don't compare it with others. Drawing should be taken as an hobbie, and not an activity to compare yours with others', that is what I think! Thank You! Really good video!

I drew a lot as a kid, but I eventually stopped for some reason. I've been wanting to get back into drawing the last few years, but every time I draw something, I think "this sucks, I'll never be good". But I just need to keep at it and embrace my failures and I'll git gud in no time.

i draw since i was 8, today im 19 but i left sketching a few years ago due to studies, post covid i realized sketching relieves the pressure, i started sketching again but i had to start from square one as couldn't even get a single stroke properly. AS of now i have improved way better off the start but im still discovering many areas in art trying different styles and forms. It's all learning
@Writing_freak10 ай бұрын
I so so so agree. Honestly no one needs talent for anything in this world. All you need is curiosity. Once you are curious about it and you want to find out more and more and learn more and more that's when you know you're meant for that thing. This curiosity is what led Einstein to discover secrets of space. This curiosity led Da Vinci to become an artist. This curiosity made great singers and dancers and basically every profession. Just keep being curious. Curiosity is the best mentor.

I drew a lot of things from my childhood, and it was not as easy as it seems first, but once you keep practicing more and more everyday, you will be more skillful than you can possibly imagine 😺👍. That's why, i draw my own art works with the traditional felt pens and colour them with the traditional twin markers and wooden pens 🖋️🖊️✏️🖍️ 😺👍. And hey, your channel deserves a big drawing like 👍 from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.

I think a lot of people did start young drawing for fun and that was their thing, but yes, some did start later in life like MJ and my brother was kind of heavy and started playing basketball for fun and it turned into a passion as well as running, before he got really sick, he could run for miles, even uphill, in a desert, plays basketball soooo well now. He also does amazing drawings from just his mind. I have ADHD so I never stick with anything, I'm a perfectionist too and sometimes have fatigue, but I do have a few things i trnd to go back to, I like to cook and put dollhouses together, hike, grow plants inside, I love to learn. I have learned to rotate my hobbies or i get burntout and give my supplies away and then have to get more later on and it takes a while as I am on disability. I learned a lot from your videos and rhey help me a lot. I got some neat ideas for drawing, I also have social anxiety lol, and hate the cold rainy weather we have here, but these videos gave me an idea of what I want to draw. I'm decent meaning i can draw more than a stick ficgure but not much better lol!

To this very day, I adamantly believe that most people who think they can't draw just have a issue of vision. If you don't know what you want to draw or what you should draw, you might not even know that you can draw on the first place. Being able to focus on something and draw it with all of your concentration, no matter how bad it is at first, is the only step you need in order to start drawing and get that belief out of your head.

learn the fundamentals like drawing figure, perspective, using the "Big to small" or "general to specific" rule rather than focusing on the small details first

I believe your right art is all about having a vision and using the tools you have to make it reality if you cant reach your vision or are not satisfied white the result because it doesn’t look good compared to your vision you have to improve your tools(skills)to reach that vision

My immediate reaction to the title alone: Because it's become the norm for people to think that have to be good at their hobbies. Then that prevents them from improving enough to consider themselves decent at drawing. Most people need to draw 'bad' to acquire drawing skills but they're less likely to do that because they're convinced not being good means they can't do it.
