Thank you for the informative video! I enjoy being able to learn about keto from an objective standpoint. Diets are very passionate subjects for many and it's hard to be informed of this type of information without it coming from someone who is preachy or bias. I also appreciate you stating how everyone's body is different and will respond to things differently. This message often gets lost but it's so important for people to be in tune with their own bodies and what works and feels best for them. Many thanks!

Mind Over Munch could you please do hacks for school lunches on how to stop bread getting soggy and making stuff for the full week to put in your lunch and stuff like that?
Word. Keep any eye out for those symptoms: thirst, pissing a lot, fruity breath, tired, confused. Keep a kit for testing ketones on hand, if you go Keto. They're cheap.

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing some info to explain how high fat diets work. Remember, what’s right for you, isn’t necessarily right for someone else. The best diet, macro ratio, etc for you is one YOU design. You don’t have to fit into the cookie cutter of any specific diet- find what works for you, and go with it! But it’s time to debunk the idea that fat is the enemy.

SUGAR/GLUCOSE IS THE BIGGEST ENEMY WE ARE FIGHTING. AMERICANS CONSUME OVER 140 LBS OF THIS POISON EACH YEAR. IF PEOPLE WILL JUST DO THEIR RESEARCH THEY WILL FIND THEY HAVE PUT SUGAR UNNESSASARILY INTO ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT IS EATEN. THE ONE THING I FOUND OUT THAT AMAZES ME IS THE FACT THAT SUGAR FEEDS CANCER CELLS. THERE ARE MANY OTHER REASONS TO STAY AWAY FROM AS MANY CARBS AS WE CAN. WITH KETO IT IS A WIN WIN SITUATION.

Almost perfect explanation. You could also add - less oxygen consumption - less water retention - better sport performance, especially endurance sports - faster wound healing - skipping meals, without being hungry - be more productive and not being tired, because of ketones - better sleep and couple more

I started research in late June and I am still not done. Like you said in the video it is reading not just on the particular diet plan but that same plan from different people. Also, looking at the pros and cons and how it will FIT in your current lifestyle. I think that is one aspect people forget about. I like to vary my research too: science journals, studies, Registered dieticians, real people who talk about it and even unconventional folks like chefs who study nutrition! You really learn a lot over time and come to a healthy conclusion for yourself. In the meantime, one can make small changes while learning. I am grateful for you and this channel.

Great video thank you! I started a keto diet about 6 weeks ago and have lost 11kg. I'm incredibly motivated by the results and how I feel. I am also doing intermittent fasting (no food between 8pm - 12pm next day) which has helped speed things up. Not going to lie the first week was insanely tough but once you get through it and start noticing the positive effects its actually quite easy to continue. Exercise is a bit harder (I cant run as fast / lift as much) but not impossible! Good luck to everyone who tries it :)

I absolutely love keto! Using keto + intermittent fasting, I've lost 20 lbs this summer, but MORE importantly, I'm healthier and have more energy than I have for at least a decade. Health issues just melted away, and I no longer get "sugar coma" when I eat a big slice of sugary birthday cake on special occasions. My lifelong seasonal allergies went away too: I went from taking 2 different allergy pills every day to none. How do I know it works? Every time I load up on carbs (Like birthday cake!) my allergies come roaring back.

Man, I feel like I never know what I am supposed to be putting in my body. I have seen a nutritionist who wasn't much help and I find it to all be very confusing. I wish there really was a one-size-fits-all diet. Like...eat these things and you'll be healthy and happy. Nothing is ever that easy though.
@MindOverMunch7 жыл бұрын
It's not easy, that's the truth! That's why it's so important we become educated to make our own decisions, and learn to listen to our bodies. No one else can tell us better than we can!

thereaderbug - I feel exactly the same way. I am soooo confused with eating and I only seem to get more confused as I age! I've done every variation of every "diet"- including keto- and at the end of the day, I'm heavier than ever. The only success I had was low carb, which was not sustainable for me long term. I agree- nothing is ever easy. Sigh...

Idk, I find in general, that those plate models the government here (I'm in Canada) work pretty well. There like a general model for how many veggies and such that you need on your plate. But also I think it basically just comes down to eating mostly whole grains, veggies, and low sugar. I didn't do a huge Keto diet or anything like that, I just used those models and I lost about 20 pounds. It doesn't really need to be complicated, imo.

His advice looks quite hard to follow at first, but when I started to actually do what he says It instantly felt just as natural as breething. He also explains what ketosis is and why is bad for you in the long run.

1 year ago, I had a vegan lifestyle, and I got most of my protein from Soy (legumes and soy hamburguers). As a male, I do not recomend eating soy everyday, I suffered from severe bloating and very slow digestion. Eating soy everyday my produce unbalanced hormonal levels in your body (to much soy facilitates de production of Estrogen). This effect also occurs with: flax seeds and dairy. Do not eat those things everyday and you will be fine. My diet had flax, soy and keffir everyday and my digestion went to hell!! 100% bloated and 100% not pooping 😂😂😂 I was not informed on how food is able to mess up hormonal levels. For the past 3 weeks Ive been avoiding those 3 foods and Im back to normal. 👍👍 Hope that helps.

Its so odd that some people have hypoglycemia on keto... its the total opposite for me... reactive hypoglycemia has plagued me for years... you know, even those "low glycemic, whole grain high fiber" cereals...yeah.. after having children, if I ate that for breakfast, I would be shaking and light headed and woozy and literally in pain all over... within half an hour... I learnt then only protein, low carb veggies and spices helped.. spices are great after an attack because it calms the nerves and my brain relaxes... The worst part is, no Dr cares or treats hypoglycemia seriously but it really made life hard... i could not have a nice mixed drink on the beach...couple hours later just when I think I was ok... I'd have an episode lasting hours...Keto has been amazing... Its extremely rare I crash and its so mild if I do.

I found this was one of the most organized and well presented talks ever. Very well done and without the usual bias. The end message is we are all different, do your own research for your body type.

Hey Alyssia! I recently discovered your 2 channels and I'm in love with them! Thank you for this very informative video, I've learned so many things. I don't want to sound dumb but I would like to know why would a keto diet be harmful for a person under the age of 18? Thank you again for your professional content and your positive personality ❤❤
@MindOverMunch7 жыл бұрын
thank you so so much, so happy to have you here :) I wouldn't recommend someone under the age of 18 start a keto diet, or any "diet." I encourage younger viewers to focus more on finding a healthy relationship with whole foods and exercise without overthinking "diets" as we tend to do as we get older. Plus, you're still growing and your body is still changing. If you think it would be helpful for you and where you're at on your journey, I would talk to a health professional who knows your health history about why and start a conversation :). Either way, there's nothing wrong with making a choice to include more heatlhy fats in your diet, whether you choose to implement "keto" or not. Fats are great fuel with benefits regardless of the diet names.

Wow perfect timing, we must be in sync! I just started a keto diet about 2 weeks ago! I have been practicing an ovo-vegetarian version though, with limited dairy and I'm loving it so far. Thanks for the info, very helpful :)

@@MindOverMunch Thank you! I just found this video, and although it's four years old, it's a really great explanation I can share. 😃 I used to be obese (it's way, way too easy to cross the line from "overweight" to "obese" at my height, yikes). It took me about two years to get to my healthy BMI; but now, I've maintained it for years, as a keto vegan. I love how clearly you describe keto, because so many people just don't understand it.

It's dangerous thing to say that losing fat is not as simple as counting calories - when it really is. The laws of thermogenesis have not changed and shouldn't be skewed to fit your narrative. I'm not saying the keto diet is bad, nor is any diet for that matter, so long as one finds something that works for themselves for their own goals. Otherwise, decent info and well put together.

Googly eyes Tricking your body into running on ketones, basically tricking your body into believing that it is starving so it will burn your fat stores, is not healthy or sustainable long term. Please for your own safety and health, do not stay on this diet! Overall health is more important than weight loss! Get healthy and the weight will eventually come off in a healthy way.

As much as I love your bento/cooking videos, I equally love these non biased informative videos. I appreciate you and the team for taking time to do research and organizing it in such a way that makes it "palatable" for your viewers. From the visuals to the script. It's easy to follow along and open the mind to new information. Keep up the hard work my friend. 💜

My experience suggests that the keto diet is over-hyped. A good diet ougt to be easy to stick with and be healthy. Agoge diet is a good option, I lost a lot of belly fat.
