I did a tv show years ago and we had a race horse on the set. Fuel To Spare. The sweetest horse in the world, is how I introduced him. We also had a yard jockey hitchhiking post, and he was black, because all the jockeys back then were black!!!, but the executive producer ( the man with the money) said I had to paint him white! So I did!

That first speaker about jockeys, had a tone of making "concessions" much like white old west enthusiasts have about black cowboys and marshals like Bass Reeves. At 4:52 there's a gravestone named for a rider named Cassius Clay Tankersly. Any relation to Muhammad Ali (Ne Cassius Clay?)

He was named after his father, who was named after Cassius Marcellus Clay, an abolitionist.

Well I just got my True West magazine and guess who’s on the cover. Bass Reeves. Of course being raised in Oklahoma, I was aware of a lot of outlaws and Indians etc.
