I find it funny that Leon knows Pow Hammer. I mean, he's such a serious guy and an awesome swordsman, so seeing him use Pow Hammer is really suprising.

3 years late, and all I have to say is “yes, you’re right.” You see him using all those other dark and edgy attacks that looks like it can easily cut you into atoms, but then you have the pow hammer.

Team Destiny in 1996 didn’t know where to put those Artes after Mint from Phantasia. Guess they thought “Oh, Earth? Makes POW sound when smashing. Let’s give Leon Piko Hammer.”

After you beat the game and save your clear data, load it and near the last save point Cyglogorg will be there, if you talk to him he will dissapear. Then if you go back to where you met rutee, that altar, he will be there waiting for you. He can transport you to the secret dungeon, where you get points and can use them to buy narikiri dolls or other kinds of items. At first only Leon is unlocked, but as you clear floors, more characters will be unlocked (Stahn and Rutee being the last)

I believe it's because his attacks were identical to Stahn in the original and they wanted to make him a completely different character than Stahn in later installments. So they decided 2 have him use a second blade to distance him from Stahn as much as possible and making him a far more speedy character in retrospect. Well that's what i think. personally I love leon's setup with the dual blades WAY more than the original setup.

The narikiri dolls are a really good second choice, since you can inherit them, and have any party of any characters regardless of their actual appearance or not. As about Leon surviving... there seems he will die no matter if he gets his own version ;_;

Well, there's both sides of it. On one hand it does take away a little of symbolism from Judas. But on the other hand it makes the transition between ToD and ToD2 a little less rockier. Then again, ToDr and ToD2 have a passive-agressive contiuinity relationship. Some stuff in ToDr is done to furher the ToD2 continuity. Other outright retcons or contradicts it. It's like the devs wanted to do a ToD2r at some point hahahaha.

I just wonder... why one of the most dark and tragic characters has such a funny dash and Piko Piko Hammer...!? But it is easily forgotten by him having Demon's Lance, Marian (Demon Attack) and Majinken Setsuga. God when I got to know that Judas was indeed Leon/Emilio I dropped a tear... For one more time he had to suffer again for his sins/deeds....

I can only usually use fang blade after tiger blade but your able to activate it without using tiger blade. How do you do that?

+khalid bin ghaith In the original remake he's good but in DC he's arguably the best character since they added tons of broken stuff. He's really fun to play as.

Judas is ok in ToD2. You lose him halfway through ToD DC though you get narikiri dolls in the ex dungeon and a Leon narikiri doll to play as him anytime you want in future playthroughs.

No de manera directa, pero podes reducir blast si te golpean y mantenes apretado L1 para causar un damage break. No es lo mismo pero bueno es lo que hay xD

Yeah... too bad the game forces you to use a Doll to play as him later... I personally would have prefer to have him come back later in the game, like at 80% of the game, and then sacrificing himself [again] in the end. It still would have explain Judas's story in ToD2.

Kevassa02 No, seriously, the names are Lion and Stan not Leon and Stahn, the official name in english are those, you can read the instruction manual, the official webpages, the Artbook of Inomata Mutsumi... their names are written in english and are Lion and Stan. PD: I really like your videos.

Majin Ken I'm aware of the japanese material but it boils down to preference. I take the spelling of japanese material with a grain of salt due to my experience with japanese games (not just Tales). Usually they romanize things in a way that looks stylish to them but isn't the way that the name was actually intended. (Kohak isn't a word! It should be Kohaku silly Namco!) Some of the localized names I actually agree why they changed them like Cress (keeps the pun with Mint instead of made up stylish Engrish "Cless") and Leon (coincide with the katakana pronounciation perfectly). "Lion" should be ライオン not リオン. I like the connotations of "Lion" (solitude, strength, etc) but it seems more like typical japanese poor romanization (Ruca Milda instead of Luca Milda). Plus it doesn't make a huge bunch of sense given the names around Leon (Hugo, Marian, Kris). Stahn is an even subtler case. It's like Rid/Keel/Collet/Shiina/Mitos vs Reid/Keele/Colette/Sheena/Mithos. While any of them are interchangeable, I just find the localizations more aesthetical without sacrificing any meaning. Regardless, I don't necessarily agree with localizations always (Garr, Khang, KARYL?). It all boils down to preference 0/

Kevassa02 I prefer to use the official names, because is the name that the developers or Inomata did, I don't like to use names that translators outside at the game did. PD: I found this, 6 years ago by you: "And his name is Lion not Leon, that is just an English release mistake, just like Woodrow is Garr and Johnny is Karyl (MANY others coming :P)" xd And what you say about the names, only applies in English but Japanese is not english, so, Lion is not "Laion" Lion is Lion, I don't know if you understand me xd Lion not necessarily is coming from the english, it is a name, like can be Tiipo or Kyukyu.

Majin Ken The developers generally don't have a good grasp at english or romanization, either. They are generally japanese. There are tons of times they try some symbolism but is lost in the romanization (Londrine and Rondoline). While it might be on their best interests to get certain message, their english skills might screw them over. It's exactly why I use Leon. I feel that's the way they truly meant to name him but got screwed over the language barrier. I value the underlying meaning over the superficial one. And yeah, that was 6 years ago. I changed my stance on a lot of things. Literally anyone in 6 years change their opinions due to new information and learning new things. Plus I've seen more and more poorly romanized names over the years. It's not as black or white as being elitist or localizationist (is this even a word lol). I just have certain preference due to their message and how they culturally fit in the game. About romanization, that's how japanese works. Lion, as pronounced in english, is ライオン. Leon is リオン. Likewise, リオン could be a number of other things (Incoming new translation interpretation: Lee-Oh-N Mag Naz!). Lion in english is specifically pronounced like the animal's name. The spelling therefore changes the pronounciation. It's simply a discrepancy created from japanase taking RION and changing the R by an L. In english it's * not * pronounced that way. It's not like the games exist in a void where they can defy the way katakana spelling works. Don't get me wrong, if you want to call him Lion it's cool by me. I love the connotations the animal gives to the character. It's just not my personal cup of tea.
