His American accent is soooo good! Why? Had he spent a lot of time in America? I understand that in the UK they also have American media but most are still rubbish at American accents. Also I'm still offended on his behalf that Chris Hemsworth was acting like he couldn't understand his accent. Save for the slang terms, I can always understand what Kevin is saying.
@amazed666 жыл бұрын
His American accent is as good as someone attempting to do a generic American accent. Alan Cumming, Idris Elba, Matthew Goode, Hugh Laurie, Andrew Lincoln, Marsha Thomason and Dominic West are all British actors who do a decent American accent.

Years of Nickelodeon. American TV infiltrates a lot of countries in the world. To the extent that many in UK and Ireland speak with a pseudo-American accent. With plenty of unnecessary 'likes' inserted in a sentence. Even people who learn English as a foreign language end up picking up American-isms from TV. "You guys" "Awesome" etc.
@amazed666 жыл бұрын
I've never understood the "you guys" thing when said to a mixed group of males and females and understand it even less so when said to a group of females only. Also once upon a time in the UK, if a female talked about her "girlfriend" then that was her lesbian partner and being tight mean stingy with money, as opposed now meaning being close to or good friends with someone and mad meant doolally but now seems to mean angry.

Burns night has nothing to do with religion its to celebrate the poet Robert Burns, also Scottish people can be Catholics too as can anyone no matter where you live. Scotland has a large Catholic community
@mirandolina464 жыл бұрын
Not true at all. At our Catholic primary school we learned Burns' poems and there was a poem reciting competition every year. I admit that was in the Fifties .... My grandfather was a great Burns fan, one of the first places we took him when my dad got a car was to Burns' Cottage. And we celebrate Burns' Night with the address to the haggis!
