To answer your question, I was unable to find sources with complete information (Keep in mind this was before publications archived news on the Internet), but my sister did tell me Bobby was present during the ice-skating scene and was jealous of Denzel. At one point he said to Whitney something along the lines of "Having fun with Mr Pretty, are we?" Years later, I watched a Whitney documentary, and someone who worked on the set confirmed Bobby and Whitney would argue in public when making that film. The director, Penny Marshall, has also gone on record to confirm Whitney would fight with Bobby over the phone. It wouldn't surprise me though; even Stevie Wonder could see Bobby was insecure.
