My whole back and forth with EJ was that it was disingenuous to compare a 3x championship team with experienced players, the addition of kukoc, a head coach and staff that has a solid identity and system, to a 22 year old fresh out of college kid that inherited a 26 win team that was 3rd worst in the league at that time if im not mistaken. Scottie was well experienced and in his 7th year at that time in 94 and they made it to the SECOND ROUND. Not ECF! But what happened in 95??? The real question is what would a rookie Scottie pippen (who was coming off the bench averaging 7pts a game) do in 84 against that Celtics team with 4-5 hof, a great Bucks team and a good Philly team at that time? So be fair and ask what would a 7yr MJ do??? That's 91 MJ who is by most, recognized as the best version of himself with a balance of mental and physical approach to the game at that time by MJ's own admission. Give THAT MJ a 53 win team, experienced players, a young kukoc and a 7yr Phill Jackson and Tex Winters. I THINK ITS FAIR TO SAY THEY WOULD AlSO MAKE IT TO THE 2ND ROUND AT LEAST. It's not MJ glaze, it's just making a fair comparison. I love EJ. I'm 49 and born and raised in south PHX and listened to him for years broadcasting suns games on upn but EJ is way too old and knows way too much basketball to be giving these 17 year old kid takes who don't know better.
