Maybe the clip is just to short and doesn’t give full context. That said getting a whole bunch of master class dry comedians in a room to just do an hour of anti-jokes and meta humor would be amazing if also painful to watch.

@@Jackbarrany I can't say much since all I saw are these 2 clips, but although you make a good point, I assume that when Don acts extremely serious, it's either because the clips are edited so that it lacks context or the follow up to the sketch. That or Don Cheadle does it to mess with people and give them a fright. After all it is a really convincing act. The only thing that tells us that it's a play is the little banter between Don and Kevin and the argument being silly.

@@CataStudies Sure. Also in the context of a contractually obligated interview with entertainment reporters, not giving them quarter or clueing them in can be super humorous. The rules change slightly but importantly when your playing with a fellow comedian or someone you respect. It’s the fact both men respect and like each other, and by all appearances Kevin is genuinely concerned and feeling badly about the idea he may have actually hurt Don emotionally. IMO, under those circumstances both interpersonal rules of engagement and comedic artistry/impact agree in that it’d be both funnier and kinder to give Kevin a bit of rope (again assuming he didn’t in the full video).
