Different types of player. Zico had more natural ability, passing ability & free kicks. KK worked hard at his game to reach the heights he did & was brilliant in the air for his height & courageous.

i love both players so much .. am neither English nor Brazilian .. I put them both at similar levels though they play different positions and styles. however, to compare them from this game is unfair: you can watch Zico vs. England on friendly 1981 (1-0 by Zico) or Flamengo Liverpool 1981 in Tokyo (3-0) where Zico was man of the game and really produced amazing moments.

It seems to me Zico didn't play at his best in this game - whereas Keegan was somewhere near his best at the time and super-motivated to be playing against Brazil.

Despite not having made it even to the semis, the 1982 Brazil was an AMAZING team. So many talented players! Falcao, Socrates, Zico, Eder, Cerezo, etc. I think the weakest link was the goalkeeper Peres. Had they had Taffarel, it would have been one of the best teams ever.

Another disappearing act in a Brazilian shirt by Zico. Happened a lot. He came into this match as the hottest prospect in South America football & dropped his bar of soap. A couple of months later at the 1978 world cup. He was non existent! Compare his performance here against England, to what a 19 year old Maradona produced at Wembley against England, a couple of years later & you see the difference.

@@johnpacino007 Zico was injured right before 1978 World Cup. Compare Maradona and Zico performance in 1982 World Cup match Brasil-Argentina 3-1. 1982 World Cup was the only Zico played in good physical condition.
