It takes a lot of guts and spirit to come out about mental illness.... Especially in the NBA.... Kudos to Kevin and many others who continue to battle with this everyday, and still strive to be the best that they can... ✊🏾💯

It takes a lot of courage to be able to publicly open up about mental illnesses--and more so step out of it. I'm proud of Kevin Love for choosing to be completely honest about himself. It makes us realize that NBA players--even if they're professionals--are still humans, and humans are severely broken and imperfect beings. Kudos to this man!

This helps a lot being a basketball player and fan to hear a basketball legend talk about my struggles being someone who has attempted before to hear this helps more than he could know its an everyday struggle and I honestly don't think speaking up about this is soft he is actually extremely tough for talking about this I know as a 19 yr old don't really talk about my struggles because I never felt comfortable talking about it with some people this hit my heart

I used basketball fir my depression my ENTIRE youth. Then as a father and a adult i still lol struggle staying up for weeks thinking about things that arnt real amd possibilities and searching for something i dont know what im searching for. Today i shut myaelf out frm the world. My mom. My boss my family. Somtimes i go weeks in my room in a dark funk and that lead to months n now years. I was in good shape i weight 285lbs. Amd was a clown n comedian growimg up n made fun of mental illness but today I am sober of 5 years and stillllll ahut off frm society it moves way to fast and way too much. Judgmental.

Exercise has been one of the only positive outlets in my life for a long time, i can't stress enough how important it is to get out and find a physical activity that you ENJOY and can provide you with a good workout, especially for those of us that deal with depression. It really helps and those endorphins can give you a real boost, and sports are a great way to meet people and socialize.
