Thank you for venturing into the quite polarising topic of thrust bearing cage orientation! 😅 Although it might not make a huge difference for the operation of the bearing in our application, closed face against centrifugal force vector is the way they are designed to operate. It ensures correct bearing distribution so that the thrust load is distributed evenly for smooth operation. I've built and flown all my helis this way for years, and upon inspection the grease is always where it should which seems to be the most popular counter argument.

I’ll have to rethink how I do this. I always faced the cup inward towards the head, I figured it would hold grease better
