Bobby Heenan said it best, the magic is gone. These wrestlers today all have youtube channels and give interviews telling everything. Nothing to wonder about anymore.

Thats a large part of it, but kids don't know all the history and shoot knowledge and still aren't into wrestling like they used to be. Wrestling used to fill a hole that superhero movies, reality TV and UFC fill now.

I know which interview the Brain said that. The magic is over. They know all our tricks. 😢

If i saw either of these guys today id ask them for an autograph. If i saw any of the young boys today id mistake them for college kids.

Lol yeah because Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Brodie King, ect look like college kids and X-Pac was so huge and intimidating.

Kevin Nash is right when he said that "the belts mean something" in today's wrestling. The only belt that has prestige is Gunther's Intercontinental Champion Belt. I like it.

The belts absolutely do not matter right now. Maybe the world heavyweight but still doesn’t matter. It’s all about the matches

At some point, as an older guy, you have to realize that shit that was cool to us back in the day just may not resonate with the younger generation. I’m not going to sit around and be on some “back in my day!” shit.

He says the belts have to mean something. Coming from the guy who did the finger poke of doom and also threw the tv title in the trash.

Wrestling today needs three things. Managers, career jobbers and MUCH MUCH more control over performers social media. Performers can't help but ruin stuff even accidentally. Its why now they lie and swerve until the last minute, just to KEEP those water muddy so their idea comes to fruition on THEIR terms. Kev and Sean started in the industry working with these same people. I grew up with 80's 90's wrestling on TV and it wasn't til the Saturday Main Events or wrestlemania/Summerslam that we SAW names vs names compete against each other and that was because throughout the weeks and months beforehand, they would be on TV shows wrestling jobbers like Horowitz and Mike Sharpe to gain their own talented clout and hype FOR those Main events. Remember even Horowitz had a whole storyline gimmick for months on how he actually WON a match. We used to have credibility in performers even heels having talent. No heel EVER wins clean anymore. Never. NOW.. Now they're hyped up immediately and no one believes it because it's a boardroom idea and not a realistic one. Austin Theory is a prime example here. When has Austin Theory ever won clean on Prime Time TV? Go ahead.. Look for it. That's why even cena in the worked shoot said no one cared about him. Because no one believes the hype.

Nash said it: it told an emotional story. Now the story is basic and there just to hang spots on and get over a corny fan favorite of the week. I love how old wrestling usually was about pissing off the fans until the babyface needed to get over. Now there's no heat. WWE is too corporate and phony. AEW is even phonier. Also, Godfather 2 is GOAT. If you don't know what that movie is about, its a waste of time explaining it.

Forget belts, ability, size etc. character is everything. Andre, hulk, taker, warrior, macho, the snake, honky, million dollar man, barber, bulldog, stone cold, hitman etc

No story telling and I feel the false finishes have gone too far. Titles don’t matter, finishing moves don’t matter and it’s like everything is too fast. I feel they need to slow down a bit, too much action in a match. Slow it down, add drama and build a storyline. Two people wrestling without a storyline behind it just makes it feel flat.

Ppl say social media ruined it, but why not idk not follow those accounts? The best performers of today still make you wonder “was that legit?” Sure it’s not as often as we like but I also don’t appreciate legends in the business who don’t even watch 3 full hours of wrestling a week speaking in their podcasts about ALL of it. Opinions based off social media clips with no context. The game is changed, but the magic remains. You just need to decide if you’re a fan of the art form or just obsessed with every little rumor or fact about it.

From a fan of over 30 years theres alot that ruins it. Belts look like shit. Punches thrown dont look real. Psychology sucks. No storylines. Everyone has a real life character name. Heavyweight division looks like ass. Theres no more larger than life characters. Social media ruins all the surprises. I honestly dont even understand how wrestling is so big right now. Its all basic and boring.
