I was addicted to these magazines as a kid. Lol. God, I can’t even begin to describe how excited I was to get the next one. Watching wrestling in the early/mid 90’s as a kid was indescribably magical, because I thought it was all real. I watched as a little kid in the last 80’s, too. It was like cartoon and comic book characters come to life. My God, I miss those days.

I know every fan has the feud/storyline that felt like the end of the world to them when we were kids. For me, it was the time Diesel and Bret Hart were feuding for the world title. I was so fucking torn and upset lmao legit man. Like I would be thinking about it and stressing out in class over it. On one hand, I looked at Brett with all the respect in the world. He was royalty in my eyes. He was like a fucking emperor of wrestling. In fact, in 8th grade, we had to make a book about our life, and it included a future chapter. I wrote about how after I grew up, I went to wrestling school, and made it, and got famous, and I would be in the locker room going over our match together, me and Bret Hart. I posed it as some teacher vs student type of feud haha! I was a total bag of shit, but hey man, we all daydreamed like that as kids, if we were deep wrestling fans. On the other hand, there was this coooool new muhfa called Diesel. He was tall as shit. His gear looked awesome because his long legs rocking leather really clashed with a simple grey leotard top. The Jack Knife Powerbomb was the most absolute finisher I ever saw (wasn't quite into ECW and WCW yet so I was still a focused WWF kid). He worked his way to the top and became world champ! I admired him, just in a different way as Bret. See, Brett was the polished general I aspired to be like one day. But Diesel, he was the cool muhf I wanted to be right NOW. I had my hair like Diesel. I was getting in school. And then these two people clashed. It didn't even make sense to me. I didn't even see WHY they had the beef lmao! I just knew that it'd probably be hard for bret to do the Sharpshooter. And if he fell for a Jack Knife, he was toast lmao super upsetting shit smh.

The story back then was that several WWF guys read for the bodyguard part in Striptease and someone or other was either so impressed or so thankful the company sent them out that they wrote a WWF plug into the movie. Where the strip club manager tells Demi he wants her to wrestle another girl in creamed corn or something and she says if she wanted to wrestle she'd have gone to the World Wrestling Federation. Was it actually just Kev who auditioned or did he know about the other guys?
