K.P. and A.B.D. were the most entertaining,explosive and excellent batsman that cricket world has ever witnessed.But there was a time when K.P was playing much better than any batsman including A.B. and if he had played a couple of year or 3 years more,he would have become one of all time greats.He is still one of the best.Jos Buttler is also pretty brilliant,he should be promoted to no. 4 or atleast no.5 before Ben Stokes.

Cricket Bonkers no I don't think so. He didn't betray his country. It was a infighting in end, but he didn't cheat or underperform as you know too I know. The stuff he did was wrong .but then what did Anderson and few others do. They also treated him badly and cornered him. It was mismanagement on part of English captain and coach. You can't let Petersen go. See England demise in 2015 World Cup and 17 champions trophy after it. He was not English by birth but his parents were English settled in SA. Please explain to me how he betrayed the team? Are you referring to the overblown texting scandal in 2012? All that boiled down to was KP texting a couple of South African players calling Strauss a dick - Strauss who had earlier in the day absolutely berated KP in front of a few South African players for talking to them after the match. Strauss was being a knob, but KP probably shouldn't have sent those texts. He apologised for it, was re-integrated into the team and wasn't a problem again. Then he was sacked as a scapegoat for the 2013 Ashes.

Everyone knows KP was cornered in his own team. Yes, KP has his own swag, but he is not arrogant like Strauss. That guy wept & pleaded in front of whole management, but alas ECB! You don't carry a diamond like a coal! KP was far far above other English Cricketers of his generation. I'm not saying he should have been given special treatment but his performance deserved acknowledgement from team. He is an emotional person but a superstar for team, and Strauss should have known how to deal with that, but Strauss' nose! And the swag young English cricketers carry today, the flamboyance & stroke play, KP was an idol for them. He showed the 90s & 00s English Cricket how to play cricket. However I don't want to exaggerate it, because recent transformation has more to do with Morgan's mindset.

The same KP went to open against potent RSA attack so that he can win that match. Why only KP? Didn't England have any other attacking batsman at that time?? The answer is NO! You forgot that the same KP scored 3 hundred against a hostile RSA crowd on his debut! You believed on a silly fucking news agency who would do anything for news! It wasn't really just internal politics - KP as he has admitted made some pretty bad errors of judgement that finally finished his career, including texting the team he was playing against in a test match. Strauss and the coaching team should have man managed him better for sure, he was the player of his generation, and the best I have seen in an England shirt.

That was the last time Pietersen batted so aggressively in a 50 over match. Once he started making IPL money, he lost interest in 50-over cricket. Was always keen on Test cricket though. He scored 3 ODI 100s in his first series, and 6 more in the rest of his career. This was also the beginning of a quick but painful end for Jason Gillespie.

I think very few cricketers have had the pleasure and honor of being able to revolutionize an entire generation of sportsmen to follow their nation, and I am glad to have been alive to see it happen twice - Sachin Tendulkar for India and Kevin Pieterson for England. Although I was too young to understand the nuances of the game whilst Tendulkar came into the foray and it was one thing moreso to be in awe of his gameplay, but seeing the change of the English team's mindset post Pieterson's explosive career was something else. I always saw the English team as this meek minded counterpart living under the shadow of much better teams and making merry being at number 4 and 5 in the ODI Team ratings. And despite the likes of Flintoff and Trescothick who were genuises in their own right they missed a spark which was turned into something else entirely - And that, in my opinion was Kevin Pieterson.
