Kevin is so frank, and honest, about how show biz works. Best parts of the tales, for me. He is a man with integrity, and it is just a natural state for him.

Between “The Kevin Pollak Chat Show,” his book, and seeing his standup act live, I’ve heard all of those stories dozens of times. Still slay me every time. Just an impossibly good and funny raconteur.

. LOVE the fact that both Rich and Dan Patrick are smart enough to realize the value of having guests on their shows from the entertainment worlds every now and then, that have absolutely nothing to do with sports. Obviously, we come for the sports, but man (though some may beg to differ) does NOT live by sports alone. Thanks Rich for continuing to book fun guests like Kevin Pollak.....what an interesting guy, and what a life he's led !! Nice to hear how grateful he is for all the success he's been fortunate to have had.... .

Great interview. Really interesting what Kevin said about the Weinberg call out during Jessep’s monologue. I never thought it was anti-Semitic. Just that he had the ‘measure’ of the character as a member of the defense forces in how “brave” he would be in the face of the enemy. That neither he or Kaffee had the stomach to do the dark things.

Winning 17 straight all-in pots is pretty incredible, assuming you got the chips in preflop. Even if you had AA against your opponent's KK in all 17 tries, you will win all 17 only about three percent of the time. If you had AK vs. AQ all 17 tries, you're winning all 17 just a fraction of 1 percent of the time (the fraction depends on suits). Helluva run for a short stack. Also, funny that he finished 986th in the tournament. Everyone from 1,062nd place through 964th won the same prize: $15,970. The next pay jump ($17,135) took place at 963rd. So if he could have lasted a little longer, it would have been worth an extra $1,165. Of course, that's chump change for him, and pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of a multi-million prize pool, but it's still one of those things that I like looking at. Oh, the vagaries and variances of tournament poker.

I just assumed it was the general macho attitude of Marines as a whole especially towards other branch's officers. There is a scene early where Tom Cruise's character asks Kiefer Sutherland's Kendrick character if he did something to offend him and Kendrick replies that they love the Navy. Every time they have to go somewhere to fight, the Navy boys always gives them a lift. Marines are heart breakers and life takers. :)
