I fear for the younger generations. I married a man who my family thought was too old for me but I admired his motivation, ambition and strong work ethic. We did divorce and we had two children and they are both successful adults. Kevin Samuels was the bitter medicine that our community needs to internalize in order to do better, live better and ascend. His message consists of the practices of those who have done well in this society. Thank you for your truthful, realistic and meaningful information, Mr. Samuels! RIP. ❤️

By your name, I'm assuming you're Muslim or were raised by Muslim parents?? If so, you should look into the likes of Shadeed Muhammad and Farrakhan, who don't just talk the talk but lead by example and have actually done and continue to do extensive and WHOLESOME work in the black community with PLENTY to show for it - and without needing to disrespect or tear down BW or BM. The likes who are truly interested in building the black community up and holding everybody accountable, making sure everybody is healing and doing the internal work to sustain healthy, stable lives and marriages. Not giving superficial advice to get in superficial and toxic relationships and marriages like Kevin Samuels did.

For me, it was awkward to sit down watching movies with my family. When they group up to watch a movie and a race situation comes up, they express their racist feelings out loud and I can hear them from afar. When I watch a movie WITH them, they throw some little softball racist comments just to not offend me but I can see in their game. When my Canadian girlfriend comes to watch movies with my family, my parents said "JACK". Nothing negative the WHOLE movie. I watch a movie alone with my girlfriend and we end up watching black actors movie sometimes. Some are safe like: Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, Cuba Gooding Jr, Adrius Alba, Will Smith, Terry Cruse, Chris Tucker, Maybe Eddie Murphy etc. But she feels uncomfortable and wants to change movies the moment it goes to: Eddie Griffin, Martin Lewis, Chris Rock, Kat Williams, Ice Cube, etc.

I’m just gonna be honest, for a long time no jumper has been giving off a very shallow and thirsty persona these past few years when it’s comes to celebrities passing. Instead of making a piece of unique content they continue to effortlessly repost an old video of them for the sole reason of monetary value. It shows they don’t give af about said person, whether dead or alive, and only see them as an objectified benefit to their company. They disrespect the deceased and their fan base with such arrogance and carelessness. Do better, inspire better

The biggest takeaway I got from Kevin Samuels - that I admire - was calling out how damaging messaging was in the 80s about black men. Systemic racism, I get - but the portrayal of black men to the point that black women are so hostile towards them, so intolerant of them, so difficult TO them and then so easily able to justify it to themselves regardless of awful personal outcomes was catastrophic. He called out the men all the time and was harsh, identifying guys that 'needed significant work' right away. But for the good guys, the top guys that work and do make money, the blk women are losing. He called it out and the reasons why, but they hated hearing it because of the forced reflection. But hating it doesn't change it unless THEY change. And since the narrower, desireable guys are honestly not super, super common - the competition for them is FIERCE... we're talking about beautiful, smart and sophisticated women of ALL races. And their first interractions with the desire-able black man is NOT hostile.

This was a good conversation. I agree with just letting things be natural and sorting will happen. I've dated BM in a majority but I started to navigate to opening my options and it just felt and flowed better. I was overwhelmed with the amount of non black men who approached and wanted to date me. When I was growing up I was always told to stay with your kind. Lol welp, that did not happen. Funny story that is also not funny. Fell in love with a non black at first sight (silly ik) I was so terrified because I had never dated out. He openly showed his interest and it was a tug of war for awhile but I couldn't reciprocate those feelings. We never got to explore what we could of been. When i was ready he had moved on. I regret it every day. I would of married him. But like I said, it was taboo at the time to date out.
