Yesterday, Leeds Rhinos honored Rob Burrow during their first match against Leigh Leopards since his death.
As the teams emerged at Headingley, fans in the East Stand held up blue and yellow placards depicting his initials and shirt number. Two giant banners were unfurled, one with Burrow's image and another with his quote: "In a world full of adversity we must dare to dream."
Rob Burrow's family attended the match. His father gave a tearful tribute, saying, "I wish he could have seen this crowd. He was a lovely lad, and I'll miss him so much."
It was an emotional night, especially because Leeds v Leigh was the first game Rob attended. He loved every minute.
A video message from Sinfield, currently in Japan with the England rugby union team, was among the tributes shown on the big screens. Sinfield called Burrow his "little friend" and "the bravest and toughest man I've ever met."
Burrow died aged 41 earlier this month, four years after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).
Regarding Rob Burrow's funeral, Leeds Rhinos and his family are still discussing plans for the public to pay tribute during the funeral, which will take place early next month.
