Kevin Talking About REO Speedwagon Break Up with Favazz & Tommy Shaw & Don Felder

People who never were privy to anything going on behind the scenes are issuing opinions on REO blaming Kevin for everything involving Bruce Hall. In short, they don’t know what they are talking about. Kevin at age 73 after 50 years of REO wants to play with another bassist other than Bruce. I got news for you geniuses which is that many are in their 70’s and 80’s and your not that far away from eating apple sauce in an old folks home so being concerned with a bass player in a rock band for 47 who has back problems is the least of what you should be focusing on.

Fun fact: While working, I once opened up a private rehearsal room door that belonged to Reo. The band sat semi-huddled in the room, turned around, and gave me the biggest wtf? Dea'th stare ever! All at the same time! I said "sorry guys" and gently closed the door. I'll just never forget how angry they were. Like seething angry!🫣 I love Reo Speedwagon Always have!🙂

Gary was an alcoholic and besides that he quit the band and the same thing with Neil he retired on his own terms as the last original member and Bruce had major back surgery and could not play... it's not always somebody else's fault

@ttuck9603 Well, the man is 73 years old, we can't expect him to have the voice he had when he was 29 years old when he recorded Hi Infidelity and had a really Amazing voice or when he was 45 years old when he had an excellent voice when he recorded Building The Bridge!, and even in 2007 when he recorded Find Your Own Way Home!! he had an impressive voice!!, and also when he recorded Live In The Heartland!!, and also when he recorded Moondance Jam he had a Wonderful voice, BTW these last two live concerts are one of the best REO DVDs, I know that he no longer has the voice of a young man!, but it is as you say, it is what it is and I will continue listening to it forever because I love REO's Speedwagon Music, and Real Artists never retire, if you don't believe me, ask The Rolling Stones!!!, I still have hope that in 2 years they will sit down to talk and that Bruce will return to the band!!, because removing him was a big mistake on Kevin's part!, but As he says, REO ending was a decision of three members of the Band, who voted and Kevin was the only one who voted to continue this wonderful dream called REO Speedwagon!!!...Keep Rockin'

Two of them reached number one on the Billboard charts, BTW, two songs by Kevin Cronin, Can't Fight This Feeling!!! and Keep On Loving You!!!, and The World Billboards of each country!, made REO Speedwagon a Legendary and Famous Rock'N Roll and Hard Rock Band!!!, and Worldwide!, if not for the Power Ballads, Me and and millions of Latin American, European and Asian peoples!! would have never heard about REO Speedwago!!, and they would still be a Band unknown!!, that would only play in bars in towns in the United States near the Chicago area and some other big cities, but thanks to the Power Ballads they became Superstars of the Golden Country!!, and from Latin American, European, and Asian Countries where they went on great Concert Tours.!!! I agree 100%. Kevin was stumbling for words to say and basically what he said was yes Bruce had back surgery but, according to Bruce he is definitely well enough to go on stage and play and he is willing to do so. So basically what you did was just throw him to the curb after 50 years because you think the band is more high energy now without him. What a load of BS!Also, by the way if you notice in the first part of the interview he never mentioned a word about Bruce until he was asked specifically what was going on between him and Bruce.Shame on you Kevin!

I don' t agree with you in the way you express yourself, but if at the bottom of the matter, a legendary career cannot be thrown away as you say, because there will be all the records for the history of music, I understand that you speak out of anger for Bruce's departure! I also don't agree, although I am a big fan of REO Speedwagon, I am also a super fan of Kevin and I think he made a big mistake, but it is human to make mistakes and wise to rectify them, I hope that one day he will rectify them. I remember REO being in a theatre I tech in not long ago and Bruce was playing. I was standing on upstage right waiting to fly the drop in at the top of the show when Bruce walked onto the stage to play. It was a fantastic show. I didn't see hear any issues with him playing. I believe Gary would still be in the band if not for Kevin. I know the band voted him out for being drunk too much, at least that is what I read. He could have and should have been saved and wait for him to recover. Play with another hired gun but give the guy a chance to get clean. Look what DEf Leppard for their drummer. Cmon, a bit of alcoholism is nothing like a drummer getting his arm ripped off while was drunk and reckless. He was their Bother. they stood by him. Kevin is wrong.

Kevin Cronin' is the undisputed Leader of REO Speedwagon!!, He is the one who has always had the last word!!, and He has also written half of the band's songs including The Greatest Global Hits Keep On Loving You and Can't Fight This Feeling and that no one can deny, Kevin have been their singer for the last 52 years, minus 3 years that Kevin also left the band due to differences with Gary Richrath (R.I.P.)...Please Subscribe!!...Keep Rockin'

So, Matt B. is a better player than Bruce - so Kevin is wanting to tour with him instead of Bruce? Kevin's voice has been shot for decades but no one tried to run his tired vocal cords out of REO. So, Neal and Bruce outvoted him and now he's going solo. Yawn. He now joins Tommy Shaw on the "we ran bandmates we didn't like out of our respective groups" tour . . . and are joined by Don 'the Eagles effed me up, too, so I can relate" Felder. :) It'll probably be quite an entertaining show because these guys all have a jillion hits between them. But watching these 70-somethings snipe at each other sounds more like something for Bravo than AXS. #PagingAndyCohen

I think other bands shouldn't put there problems onto other bands it kind of makes the bands thats our having problems to pick and choose who friends with who and not having oh you like these guy's but the singer doesn't like certain people in his own group but putting others into your problems with other band it kinda puts other band on the spot because other bands don't want to say anything bad about the other band members

Well, I think you're right! REO Is Gone!, because Kevin himself said that he is going to continue singing but under his name and he is not going to use the name of the band because by vote of the founding members that still remain, such as Kevin, Neal and Bruce, it was decided to put end to the band, I mean it wasn't just Kevin's decision, but Bruce and Neal also cast their votes as I understand it, so I don't understand why so much hate against Kevin! If it was a decision of 3 members who own the brand REO name!!, as I understand it, I don't know much about this, just that someone said it was like that, I don't know if it's true but it makes a lot of sense. BTW, if this were true, I would have liked Brayn and Dave to also cast their votes because they are an important part of the band from 1989 to today.!! Keep Rockin'

Oh Kevin just as well response as a Rock n Roll Legend Kevin and why kick The Legendary Gary Richrath when he’s gone by stating the Song😢Gary and You wrote will have more energy and I am a Very Longtime REO Speedwagon Fan buying many Albums and have gone to many REO Speedwagon concerts and Absolutely REO Speedwagon is a RRHOF Member as is Styx and if someone had ever created a True RRHOF instead of this version that is more Rolling Stone Magazine Avards show them REO and Styx would have been in for Decades! So now when Band is Elected in to RRHOF will it be like Guns and Roses and main Lead Singer doesn’t think enough of Fans to show up! I am such a Music Fan it really saved me having to be in and out of Hospitals and Doctors Offices and in 1977 was diagnosed with a Major illness and had to have major surgery at age 15 years my Nurses and anyone knows me Rock Music was my Escape and when I recovered enough my oldest Brother took me to my first concert Head East and that was my Go button and since 1977 I have now been to 702 concerts and the Greatest Music of all times late 70s to early 80s Classic Rock Music! On m in your social pages and all Family and Friends know I am a Fan waving the Rock Banner and sharing this Amazing Music with my Daughter and anyone I know and the last few years watching KZbin Reaction videos and seeing young people hearing the Greatest Bands like REO ai I see in them how it felt. Oh and this post Summer first waiting in Dallas Tx to see REO Speedwagon and then was going to go to Houston Tx and take my Daughter and Wife to see REO but there was a cancellation due to The lead Singer having health issues and thinking no way will REO Speedwagon would not come back to such major Fan Base Cities but what now Kevin we deserve make up REO Speedwagon concerts in Texas not a Band that has a former lead singer of REO . I have been a concert’s with Major Bands where a member had to be seated in order to play because injuries or surgery’s and I had no problem with that Happy they were there Red Hot Chilly Peppers, GN&R and a couple more so even if Bruce Hall is in a chair whole show then a chance Back on The Road will be included. I have been wanting to hear what Kevin C. and maybe You should have had Your Beautiful Daughter make statement instead of trying to tell a Longtime Fan who since 81 saw many REO concerts and dismissing my Favorite times of seeing Band and to promote new solo Band as playing Iconic Kevin and Gary Songs will be played with more energy Please Kevin don’t take cues from David Lee Roth. REO Speedwagon is a Family all this mess can only come from clueless Management!

Cronin nor Shaw should be able to use the bands names. Both are replacements and they should be out doing solo shows or in Shaws case, Shaw/Young. Almost as bad as Foriegner selling tickets with no one left from the original or even glory days left. I can see tribute bands who are just as good for free.
