Yeh man! WJZZ defined 'jazz'. OK, they didn't play Sun Ra (you had to go to WDET for that), but the pop jazz was not "smooth" jazz. Who was the late night DJ? Calvin Ussery? Is that how you spell his name? Him, Ed Love, Baker's KL, "Sundown": what a great jazz scene.

I’m not down playing Kevin all. This man is from Detroit Michigan. I’ve seen him numerous times in concert there. He played at the KOOL JAZZ FESTIVAL on Detroits river front. I was at FLOODS in Greek Town (DOWNTOWN DETROIT), Kevin walked in and did a set! He’s well known here and around the world. This CD deserves Platinum. His best work far as I’m concerned. Trying to understand your point here… He gave me this CD at my former restaurant GOODYS CHICKEN AND WAFFLES IN TRAPPERS ALLEY IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT. I don’t understand you but have a great day. LOL!
