Kevin , I just found your KZbin channel and I must tell you that I have been looking for someone like you for a very long time. All of your ideas (styles) for sculptures are fantastic. They are all my type of sculptures. You inspire me tremendously with you positive attitude. I make resin sculptures just because I feel that there is something inside me that tells me that I can. I would love to build a metal sculpture for my yard but have no idea how to start . I will keep watching your videos and see what I am capable of. Thank you for being you and for sharing . Boca Raton FL, Sao Paulo Brazil, Manchester Vermont . Cheers.

That should have been set up as a windchime on heavy chains and labelled with "If this Wind Chime is ringing the hurricane's a visiting"

They are windchimes! You would be surprised, Richard. It only takes a light wind to ring them. I've learned a lot over the years about how to make them ring easily and not blast out your eardrums! LOL

I’d be nervous that my first cut was not level, or I’d not accounted for how I placed the laser. I have an oscillating laser level that’s self levelling and sits upon a tripod which you can wind up or down for precise measurements. You can hire these and would have been my preferred choice. However the method shown seemed to work fine.

I have done this a few times! And remember, I am not building a skyscraper here!

I made a single tank chime from an old tank and window weight. I know the storm is gonna be bad when it gets to ringing.

I made one like that. It had a 2.5lb solid steel ball for a clapper. You could hear it from the other side of the college campus!!

Hi Kevin, I don’t know if you’ll read this but I’m making a box out of 1.5 mild steel by mig welding it, and I need to dress it by giving it a rounded corner on all corners only using a grinder, and I’ve been struggling because I either take too much off or not enough or it’s just not rounded properly
@TylerGrainger-ul7cl2 ай бұрын
And was wondering if you would be able to help
@KevincaronSculptureАй бұрын
There is a trick to getting a good-looking corner and seam when welding. Make sure to always grind off the metal instead on the metal. If you look at the grinder on the safety shroud you will find a small arrow showing you which way the wheel turns. Always make sure you are grinding off the metal. If you do both sides of the weld you should wind up with a nice sharp edge. Then a quick pass at 45 degrees to the joint and you will round off the sharp edge to get a nice smooth rounded edge. Hope this helps.
