Quick tip..if you haven't got a gouge tip and need one quick just take a brand new tip and drill it out with a 2.4mm drill bit or whatever size that is in imperial..it will do the same job as the gouge tip..it works really good i have been doing it for yts and it hasn't failed me yet..

I have gouged with my 60 amp Everlast even though it doesn’t have a gouge setting and it worked great, Cudo’s for George’s Plasma Shop! He’s a great a guy!!!

Hi , Kevin ! Been a long time ! Wouldn't it be easier to use an Angle grinder with a flap disc ? I know it sure would look a lot better , and probably a bit faster . I'm asking because you are the expert . Good to see you and your videos . I've always enjoyed them . Thank you my friend .

I have tried both ways to tell the truth. I like the speed of the plasma and the precision of the grinder. All depends on what "look" you are trying to achieve. Thank you for watching and posting.

That's actually a drag tip your using that's why it has that cap with the 4 cutouts to go over the tip so u can drag it directly on the metal when cutting

Hey Mary, good to hear your intro again. Now Kevin, the rest of the story. You are just using compressed air w/ no specific gas, am I correct ? Is it considerably faster than using a grinder or cutting wheel ? J K

Just using compressed air. Gun came with the machine but I am using the correct consumables for gouging. They are different then for cutting. And it is way faster then a cutting wheel!

What settings are you using? Air pressure and amps? Most cheaper machines don't have the gauge option ore any preferable settings for gouging

Not having "gouge" on alpha cut 60, I am going to fake it by drilling out a worn nozzle to effectively fan out the plasma stream.

I’m using my plasma cutters (selco and telwin - both italian brands) for more than 9 years, it doesn’t have the gouge mode but I found useful gouging t-joints going reverse with one single pass. It leaves a lot of molten steel and slag combined but I can see very easy where the two pieces join toghether so I can save a lot of parts that way. I tried to go the right way like mr. Kevin did but all the molten sparks are flowing at me and I can’t gouge like that.

Kevin Caron, Artist I recomend to try yourself with standard consumables and 20-30 amps to see how things are going. You should gouge a lot of metal very fast with only one shot. Thank you for everything. I learned a lot from you sir.

Hey Kevin. That is cool. I don't have a plasma cutter, but I wish I did. Do all cutters have that feature? I thought gouging would be when you wanted a hole or a slot in the metal. Thanks for sharing.

Not that I know of. I have only seen 2 different machines with the gouge function.

Andy even in australia the small cutters dont seem to have thayt in the 30 45 amp cutters , only in the 60 amp machines , might have some thing to do with the size and amps of the machine ?

Those parts are copper. Either C18150 or C14500 Tellurinum Copper.

All depends on the torch. If the torch is the same size then yes.
