I am not a Doctor but I am a RN for 30 years and 20: of those year’s I worked as a Oncology RN and worked with cancer patients giving chemotherapy. You have interstitial cystitis from the BM transplant and basically the acid in certain foods, medications and dehydration can cause this and yes it is normal to get. I saw many patients suffer for years with this and it was so painful they would be in tears and had to stay in the hospital for IV hydration until a new NP (Nurse Practitioner) dealt with one of our female patients who had to come in to the hospital due to the pain and this NP told her about a simple thing that they recommended at the other Oncologist she worked with in another hospital had ordered her an over the counter medication called Prelief and basically it takes the acid out of the food and medications. It helps coat and protect the bladder and takes the pain away taken with meals and medications, I’m glad you stuck up for your husband.and took him home because he is safer.

I am angry because of that doctor is so arrogant. What’s the point of staying in the hospital when he could do IV at home? You got this Kevin! And nurse Jaqi is doing a good job 👏

I am so glad Kevin is doing well! I hope you reported that "Dr." That was the ONLY one not willing to release Kevin. That to me sounds like He alone is trying to "UPSELL" the hospital service, The Medical FRAUD dept. May be interested into his actions! God Bless You Jaqi and Kevin and the Whole Family! 🙏😇🌟❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Good job nurseJaqi. A nurse who loves you is always best. Glad to see you at home and not in a hospital where they won't let families in the room with you. I think that is a form of torture. These people who won't let family in to be with dying patients are cruel and unfeeling. It should not be allowed. It should be up to the person if they want to risk it or not. They should have some exceptions. You can't have a do over when the person dies.
@777kasey4 жыл бұрын
Hang in there you two! I know this isn't easy for anyone in the family. So, a suggestion; do you all have help that comes to the house weekly? Cleaning, laundry, meal prep, that kind of thing? I hope that you have family nearby. Raising children, caring for a recovering spouse with medical needs to this import and trying to maintain a household and some sense of "normalcy" is just too much for one person to do alone. Don't be shy to reach out to your extended family and/or friends; you will be surprised how many want to help but just are not aware of what you need.

So glad on track!!! Can you take anti nausea meds in case u have to take that med? Please give updates more. Love seeing how hes kicking cancer's but. 25 year non hodgkins survivor!! Welcome to the survivors club!!! Be safe wear masks!!!
@carasmussen274 жыл бұрын
don't they give you anti nausea meds like Zofran or compazine? I take both starting with the infusion and Zofran for 7 doses after. It helps so much. But I too get stomach issues where I just don't have any appetite and its very hard to eat anything. Cool they can have a team come to you. I have Kaiser and think I may have that available to me if i need it but so I haven't. Yep hubby has to flush my port too after I have my 46 hour home infusion. He has to de-access the port and flush it with saline and heparin. Glad you are making improvements and it is awesome about your bone marrow. I go in for my third chemo tomorrow. So I am about 1/4 done.
