Thank you all, for the most part, for being far more respectful in the discourse here compared to our Med School Insiders So You Want to Be video. I'm all for people having differing opinions, disagreeing, and having healthy and respectful discourse. I respect Dr Brosious even though I don't agree with his stance on everything on this topic. I personally don't think surgical or hormone disrupting interventions are justified in minors, whereas I'm not opposed to adults doing what they want with their body. I also don't find it appropriate for transgender women to compete with biological women in sports. But the fact I disagree with him on these parts of the transgender debate doesn't mean I can't respect him or his work. You probably don't agree with me, and that's fine, since my stance doesn't align with either "side". We can have differing opinions on these sensitive topics. I'm proud to be, what I consider, an independent thinker on each individual issue, and not adopting the hive mind of one party or the other. Ask yourself if you truly think for yourself or just adopt the list of beliefs of one party. Maintaining an open mind, learning from different perspectives, and challenging assumptions and beliefs are things I deeply value. They're how I approach life and how I will continue to approach my KZbin channels, both on this channel and elsewhere. Much love.

Kevin-first, thank you for the opportunity to educate your viewers on a specialty about which many people know very little, even within the medical community. The field has been evolving very rapidly, and many providers have changed their practices to keep up with changing times and attitudes. In the past 2 and a half years since this video was created, my practice has changed, and I am no longer offering any gender-affirming surgical services to patients under age 18. Also, I have NEVER performed any genital surgery on patients under 18 years of age at any point in my career. I still maintain my passion for providing the best care possible to the gender-expansive community, and will continue to meet the medical needs of the patients to the best of my abilities.

Wow .. I'm a doctor and I had three tattoos on my left arm to honor my brother who died fighting cancer. I've always liked tattoos but I always had doubts about getting one. After my brother died I started not to care about anything so I decided to honor him with tattoos of things he used to like. If people are going to judge my medical knowledge based on the tattoos I put for my brother they are free to do so. I don't care. I love Dr.Brosious. I’ve been following him on instagram for a while now. He is an amazing doctor and such a wonderful human being. He made me retrieve my faith in doctors community once again .

Never expected a surgeon's intro to look like a lifestyle ad. The slowed down morning routine and the pan of a beautiful location. Perhaps one of those millionaire humble flexes by showing the house a bit, clean eating, productivity, exercise, and physical appearance. Big round of applause to the cameraman who decided on these shots and angles. Also, you did a great job of staying out of many of the shots, minimal reflection or shadow. Whomever placed the time and location made the text legible and breathe in the frame. Overall, A+ work and I hope waking up early to prepare for this job wasn't too much of a hardship.

With regards to his house, based on other pictures I’ve seen on his instagram, it’s only a 2 bed 2 bath, roughly 2100 sq ft home, so it actually isn’t that big and given the cheap cost of living in Nevada, probably not a million dollar house. It does have a beautiful interior design though!

No way. If we treated underlying psychiatric disease before mutilating these traumatized, vulnerable kids for cash, we would only make $378,000 a year, which is not what I signed up for in plastic surgery

No that’s a very logical and ethical question. It would be extremely dangerous to not have psychiatric clearance on a patient wanting to undergo such a life-altering procedure.

it's also kind of (not) funny how he's saying gender reassignment surgery on minors reduces suicide rate but there has been clear evidence that suicide rate goes up post gender reassignment surgery, as he said it though, he started doing this for the money and it clearly shows that he's still doing it for the money (despite his best efforts to try to turn himself into some hero by stating false facts lol)

@@Chkoupinator Hi, I'm trans and also had bottom surgery. I don't think having surgery makes you more likely to commit suicide or what ever you were getting at. I think one of the biggest issues is with society it's like you can have the surgery to you feel better but society is still going to see me as a 6'4 400lbs Black dude in a dress they wont see my new genitals. I'm pretty successful have a great family and kids so I can careless about what society thanks of me. But for some people that's important very important one girl kept getting surgery after surgery and people kept calling her a dude she tried so had to fit in that's what cause people to go the suicide route. He's a great doctor and by him doing surgery on that trans teen will help him fit in better he will be just another guy in the locker room not having to change elsewhere it truly makes a big difference.
@sawyer37152 жыл бұрын
as a transgender minor in the united states yes you do have to get psychiatric clearance and a gender dysphoria diagnosis for surgeries/hormone replacement therapy from a psychiatrist in the form of a letter. or sometimes from multiple psychiatrists. and they will not perform genital surgeries until you are age 18. the process for minors to transition medically is intentionally difficult to prevent this sort of thing. (edit: not to mention intentional waiting times/required time living as the target gender, also the process might be different in other countries so this isnt what it's like everywhere)

When you help save life of poor patient you get nothing and you live a middle aged life. But if you can do trivial modifications on rich clients you get a load of cash. Thats why this Sector is thriving

Exactly. “Gender surgery” doesn’t save anyone’s life. It’s just woke liberal bullshit. Go to countries where LGBT degeneracy is socially unacceptable, and you’ll see that there’s no such thing as a “gender surgeon” in those countries’ healthcare systems.

Operating on adults is one thing (personally I think it’s butchery) but if you do it on anyone under 18 your a criminal and should be arrested.

I’m not here to say you or anyone is wrong or right. But a genuine question: What happens if that person commits suicide before they are even able to make it to age 18 (despite seeking help from a psychiatrist/therapist and exhausting all other avenues)?
@Sam-tx1tn Жыл бұрын
@@pennywise721 people who undergo this type of surgery are at higher risk of suicide. The ‘what if’ argument just doesn’t wash I’m afraid.
@pennywise721 Жыл бұрын
@@Sam-tx1tn Thanks for responding. Saying "people who undergo this type of surgery are at high risk" is a blanket statement. How is applying a blanket statement to all individuals in question sensible? You didn't really address the scenario I asked about or provide a constructive solution. I'm not implying anything about your beliefs, but when that happens, what will your response be? "Suck that they couldn't make it to 18? Oh well."
@Sam-tx1tn Жыл бұрын
@@pennywise721 the data suggests people that undergo this type of surgery are at greater risk of suicide. I’m not sure what the issue with that is. Are you saying any data set that makes comment about a population is just a blanket statement and not relevant or helpful? Regarding under 18’s, the data, such as it is is also clear. The VAST majority who want surgery as children, once they reach the age of 18 and certainly 25 do NOT proceed with it. Their brain matured and they realise that butchering their bodies is not the answer. True gender dysphasia is rare, what we have on our hands is a psychological epidemic. Just like self-harm. Just like multiple personality disorder. Even eating disorders are a relatively modern phenomena. An absolute ban on children undergoing irreversible surgery is absolutely required. Support for those struggling should be available, but surgery needs to be off the table. These surgeons are going to be on the wrong side of history. I have absolutely no doubt on that.

is it still to each their own when it comes to castrating minors who aren't fully formed human beings in any sense of the word, and don't even have the ability to 'consent' yet?
