I like your style. Thank you for the videos. I do get alot out of Sifu Francis Fong's videos; although, I do find alot of them hard to keep up with. I usually have to watch them several times to even see what happened lol. Next time I'm in Georgia, I'll make it a priority to join a class.

8:50 'lowline bridge' somehow i doubt it - what if they just punch at your face right at that moment? well your rear hand is up but you're angled away (making it weak) and its structure compromised. That being said , yes you mention how it's drill for sensitivity/skills not actual combat situation, but i still think that lowline bridge body position does not make sense for wing chun ever, really. it's slow to get to other WC positions. Wc positions are supposed to all be able to quickly interchange with one another. Surprised you're not mentioning the sinking energy required to make these traps and hits connect full body weight. Without that if they hit the slightest bridge they won't hurt nor disturb his balance either.

I should have known wing Chun in my fighting days -real life fights, then I should have not had these scars which I stare until now . . . I realised, I can not withstand pain, it made me forget to even just defend.

Great video! I wish I lived closer! I have trained Wing Chun, but also another style that borrows heavily from Wing Chun. I am enjoying the videos! Edit: Ah. Doing research, I see you know Alan Baker. Which probably means you are at least aware of CBI. As a courtesy, I try not to bring up other current teachers unless directly germaine to the conversation or mentioned first.

What do you do if he punches at your face? Think street bully. What do you do? I know you have an answer. I just truly want to hear it or see it.
@erickthomas61332 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen much of him, but it seems like he mostly just punches first by interrupting the other person. Or, he just parries and immediately counter strikes.
@sc94332 жыл бұрын
I would assume a right hand "pak"(slap) to his fist, guiding his fist towards ur upcoming left elbow strike at his fist by connecting ur left elbow to ur opponents fist.
@genofila89432 жыл бұрын
CONFUSED…when boxing or kicking in class , we don’t start with back of lead hands touching. Both are right handed ( no southpaw stance) and jab hands are across from each other. Not even sure how I would get into back of hands touching ????
@halo99yo2 жыл бұрын
when you parry or block you can try to apply the technique. You can also reach your lead hand out and if your opponent copies you you can try to grab.
@AntiTheBird2 жыл бұрын
@@halo99yo lmao, why would your opponent copy you?
@blockmasterscott2 жыл бұрын
That's boxing and kick boxing between skilled fighters in a match. If you watch two guys on the outside get into a scrap, you'll see the backs of their hands touching. It's why we practice push hands in Tai Chi so much because guys in a scrap always get the backs of their hands touching.
@genofila89432 жыл бұрын
@@blockmasterscott Want to respect but still not getting it . In street fights I’ve seen a lot of 1) sucker punches 2) cowboy swings from the fences and 3) pushing of chest - I could see sticky hands maybe for the last one - but wild street punches ??

generally people you fight with aren't going to stick their arms out like a tree branch also a system of striking where you have no guard system will result in getting hooked in the face

training trapping from the center like enter the dragon will not benefit cuz that will never happen. if you wanna train trapping movement than you better train it from an alive position. meaning a position that you get in a real fight or sparring. just my thoughts.
@milos44072 жыл бұрын
These are just drills. Good wing chun schools apply their drills to sparring.
@jestfullgremblim8002 Жыл бұрын
I mean, he literally said many times (in this same video) that these are just reference positions and that real fights/matches won't usually be like that
