I enjoyed the shit out of "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" - sure it's not as amazing as the first one, but then again I'm older and more cynical. I think a lot of modern viewers just aren't able to appreciate/enjoy simple goofy humour anymore; they need things to be meta or steeped in sarcasm. Sure, the finished film might have one too many subplots, but it's a fun sweet flick that honours the original quite well.

Agreed. I only watched four episodes but it completely missed all the things that made the movie what it is. None of it's humour worked for me and the acting was bland. It fits right into the group of Americans remaking UK stuff they don't understand.
